I m having happy family floater policy of Rs.5 Lacs in my and my wife's name via policy no. 242100/48/2011/1576.Sir,i m having mediclaim from this co.since last 10 years appx. At the time of renewal when I asked to cover maternity benefit in my policy co. is refusing the same to cover.Max. no. od doctors are saying that co. cannot deny this cover as maternity is neither any pre-existing disease nor any accidenatl claim,it is a natural process.
If co's can cover for catract in eyes then how the same co. can deny for maternity benefit.Today each co. is covering this benefit and according to hospitals this is also covered by every public insurance cover,the only thing is that the customer should be aware and educated.Else all these co's are always ready to deny for this service in order to avoid the mediclaim payment.
Sir, in the month of August 2010,when sister-in-law was admitted in hospital,she gave birth to a boy via cesarian,at that time also when I submitted her papers alongwith her mediclaim card but TPA of The oriental insurance co. denied for my claim.
In this regard I want to complaint against this co. that my previous claim should also be released and when I want to cover maternity benefit in my renewal for my wife the same should be covered.
I m a Chartered Accountant by Profession and writing to you in the hope that my querry shall be accepted and heard by the members of Right to Information.
