Hi,
I am an NRI owning a home in my native place called Kottaiyur in Tamilnadu. It was constructed 8 years back and recently I decided to renovate the same to improve the elevation. Even after partial hacking the house is fit for living and my cousin continues to live there.
Note, I am not doing demolition of old house and constructing a new house.
It is a two story house having two electrical supply connections for lighting and other single phase electrical appliances like fridge, TV, washing mc, pump etc.
During this civil modification work few cubic meters of addtional water will be used for civil work but the energy usage will not exceed the routine or contracted usage. There will not be any significant change in peak load also as there are no new pumps or electrical equipments used for this renovation work.
In such circumstances do I need to apply for tariff change? Local Wireman is insisting my cousin to submit the Tariff change application immediately, failing which there will be termination of supply or penalty for violation of domestic usage,
Please advise me about the wayforward so that I can align myself with TNEBs legal or statutory requirements, without developing further friction, but I am against misuse of power or authority by EB staff.
As we live in a corruption free country, we are mentally affected much by this prevailing situation. please help us to deal with this misinterpretation of rules and responsibilities.
Regards.
