[Resolved]  Ultra Motors VeloCITI Electric Scooter — Poor Battery Life

Dear Sir,

We are surprised to receive Report dated 7/7/2010 from your authorised Service Centre in Pune M/s Aasprirations (e) Bikes stating that the batteries of the VELOCITI Electric Scooter n O. MH12ER2067 need to be replaced costing Rs. 10,000/-. The batteries were replaced in June 2009 at the Hodometer reading 6328 and the present readings is 10511. Thus the vehicle has completed hardly 4183 km. for which we have to bear Rs. 10,000/-. As per your broucher the running cost of the Velocity Model should have been 10 Paisa per km. However, after taking into account the cost of the Batteries the running cost comes to Rs. 2.4 per km. which is 24 times more than your claim. Before puchasing the above Electric Vehicle we were using Petrol Driven two wheeler and the running cost stood at Rs. 1.66 per km even at the current Petrol prices. which amounts to Re. 1/- per km. Thus it seems that the batteries replaced in the last year could not came upto the mark and hernce we request you to replace the same without any cost. Ours is a Public Charitable Trust and we cannot afford to spend Rs. 10,000/- every year on batteries alone for the vehicle.
