Sir, I am writing from saltlake, kolkata. I tried to withdraw cash of Rs. 5000 on 31.10.2009 from HDFC ATM, located in Saltlake, sector-III branch. But no response from ATM and returned my debit card. But my bank (union bank of India) is debited. Hope you have submitted a copy of your ATM receipt along with a letter to your UBI branch manager, requesting him to upload the details to the Head Office.
UBI HO will contact HDFC HO and call for the refund, which will take place after verification by HDFCSBI.
As a precaution you can give a copy to the HDFC branch which controls the HDFC ATM
