I am a Canadian citizen living in Canada. My spouse, who is also a Canadian Citizen wanted to visit her handicapped brother and ill mother in India. Hence she applied for an Indian visitor visa at VFS in Surrey BC.
But I find it hard to believe that VFS Global office in Surrey allowing a security guard to screen all the applicants’ personal information. I don’t understand that how a third party should allow to read any ones personal and confidential details? It’s simply a violation of Privacy Act of Canada.
Further, VFS Global office in Surrey refused to accept my spouse’s visitor visa application. The VFS employee asked us to provide an Indian Passport on which my spouse immigrated to Canada back in 1980. And when we produced the old Indian passport, which were already expired, we have been told to go to Indian Consulate in Vancouver and get Indian Passport stamped as “Canceled” from the Indian Consulate by paying the fee.
Well, after making numerous requests that my spouse is frequently visiting India on her Canadian Passport from the last 20 years or so and her last visit was in September 2009 and now all of sudden why we are been forced to get Indian Passport Canceled though it has no legal validity then they accepted our application.
The behavior of both VFS & G4S security guard is extremely unprofessional & insensitive. Kindly look into the matter to improve the services.

Apart from that they given mumbai uk British immigration Attache person name and phone details ofr liaison purpose.The person called me and demanding 315 Pounds for visa procees.once everything get ready he will let me know the date for signing documents.i could not guess anything.Please do let me know that whether this is fake or genuine.Please confirm and save me my money, thank you.

I have been following to his instructions. He told me that you will be required to get an Anti-terrorist certificate to process your visa. and the charges for registration would be Rs. 10, 000. After this I received letter from British High commission New Delhi to deposit further 937 GBP for obtaining the certificate. Now i feel that this seems to be fraud.
Please tell me whether anti-terrorist certificate is really required to obtain visa for UK?
