Dear Sir
I am from Haldia, PH-5, Priyambada Housing.Last few months I have been receiving Hi- meter reading. Even when no body is present in month or so in that premises that time also receiving the hi amount. Here the sytem is sending the bill in 3 months advance period.In last March 14 th ' 09 as per my same complaint to the Station Manager, Durgachak, Haldia replied that our meter is O.K.But still the problem is yet to solve.S/C Connection no. A/D 1246, Con. No. - P030051. Last complaint memo no. DGES/T-16/4004.Dt 16.03.09.
I therefore request you to please look after the matter & try to resolve it at the earliest.

Dear Sir,
I am from Haldia, Midcon building, uttarpally, Durgachak. This month (Nov'11) my Electricity bill is showing abruptly high( > Rs 9000). Since for a three month period you are providing bill, it never goes beyond Rs. 3500/. But since last billing I found abnormality, although meter reading are taken in time and it is arounf 600-700 unit in every phase( 3 month period). this time it is showing more than 1500 unit of consumption... pl look into the matter and take initiative to make a correct & accurate bill every time.

    An application was forwarded on 13th April, 2009 to the office of WBSEB, Salt Lake, Kolkata requesting a connection for installing of an AC. Since there was no response perforce I visited the office today and submitted another application addressed to the Station Manager, WBSEB, Salt Lake to kindly expedite the request also mentioning that as per WBSEB protocol serving and ex-service personnels are given priority.

    The case is same as mine. I have applied for new connection but there is no response from the WBSEB department, I have already bought the AC but am waiting for the connection from them. May I know how long it takes for the process.

    I have applied a new connection on 02nd January, 2009 in Bhatpara WBSEB. when i applied, I mentioned to do the Phase connection for public interest, bcause There are above 10 house in this area, but there are no phase Connection. and as per wbseb quotation, i have deposite money for war. One day, a contructor came to my house (Chatterjee Electric, Naihait) and asking Rs. 7000 for cost of other accessories excluding War. But as per wbseb quotation, i am not bound to purchase those accessories from chatterjee electric, and i came to know from another shop that those accessories actual cost not more 2, 500.

    After that, I visited more than 10 times in Bhatapara Wbseb, but still i have not found any progress.

    My mother is 90 yrs. old and i have a 3 yrs 6 month child and we are suffering so much problem.

    I hope you will take necessary action to and solve it as early as possible.

      sir,

      this is regarding electric connection which i had applied 6-7 month's ago and still there is no response from electricity board, now the are telling we have to install an electric pole by ourself than only they can provide us connection.

      please suggest is there any process that customer has to install electric pole.

      sir,

      this is regarding electric connection which i had applied 6-7 month's ago and still there is no response from electricity board, now the are telling we have to install an electric pole by ourself than only they can provide us connection else will need to wait indefinitely, unless all the materials are supplied by supplier to electricity board.

        I applied for new connection of Electric on 16.07.2008 and they take security money on 17.07.08 and also take money for new meter(Rs.650) on 01.09.2008 But till now they donot provide the new connection. my Service Quotation No BD/23912 and my address is 2/3/14 Sarodamoni park, pirpukur Road, Bansdroni, kolkata- 700 070. please take the necessary steps about this matter.

        West bengal State Electricity DCL supply voltage 120-180 Voltage only. Most of the time average voltage 120-130 Volt and peak time voltage 120 Volt only. Due to this..
        1. Electrical Appliances are damaged or may be damaged
        2. Personnel requirment not meet(Electrical Applinaces not working)
        3. Never they are not provided 220 volt supply voltage, this is the primary requirment.

          please consider this complaint very seriously as my family is facing a lot of problems over the erratic electric supply and the low voltage which goes down to 65 volts in the evening and continues till late nights, my children is facing a lot of difficulties with their studies due to low voltage and outages, theives take advantage of the situation as we are far away from the town centre, travelling to get supplies is also very risky, there is no streetlights in the area in which we stay, please pass this complaint to the proper authorities,

            Sir,
            Power failures in form of phase out is a regular problem in our area, specially in the night.It is because of rampant power thefts.We are valid consumers but are left without power often.Why should we suffer when we pay regular bills?

            well done Mr Choudhury, i am also your neighbour and i am also going to send a complaint, it is very difficult in the summer afternoons and at nights it is very dangerous as we are far from the town centre, theives wait for the current supply to go off so that they can enter the house, our area needs steady power with proper voltage,

            I am a resident of Siliguri, area salbari, I have a small complian and that is, our whole area is provided with electricity except we and our five neighbours.Our whole village has got the electricity poles from the panchayat, without paying a single penny, but when we are asking for electricity, we are asked for money, why I donot know .We haven;t got the connection for the past 6-7 yrs ( lSmall period naa).I think this is called development in India. Applications are always burried down under a huge file and apllicants are given two things only 1) Date and 2) order to go from one place to another.

            Sir,

            I am a resident of Jaigaon, Jalpaiguri and I have recently applied for electricity and had submitted all the required documents. Latter one of the line man came to us and told that the electric pole from which we will be getting the connection is in a longer distance (It was about 110 Mtrs) and he told to make one concrete pole, as per his advice we made the pole and after some days he was saying that the meter will be fitted in the pole itself he told to make one wooden box with lock and key for safety.

            I am surprised to hear that the meter will be fitted in the pole which is on the road side, As I had never seen any house with electric meter on the pole. As the place where live is remote there are risks of theft and damage.

            Therefore sir, you are requested to advice your personal of Jaigaon Electricity office to install the meter in the wall of my House, the distance in between the pole and house is just 50ft.

We Take Your Connection On Month Of August 2007 But Our Bill Come Home On 10/01/2009(Billing Date). We Sow That Bill Is Not Correct, Bill Miter No Is Wrong My Miter No Is 7s0637190 But Bill Miter No-7S0367190, and Bills month charge extra 1 month bills. I complain two time my complain no is-2990 and 3109(27/01/09). I enquired many time but no result. Last time he said that you look his next bill we are correct them.
            I hope you correct my problem and we look an example for that problem creator punishment.

            my mother bought a house at teghoria, kolkata in 2003. up to now the house closed. but they cut off our connection due to a huge amount of electric bill outstanding in 2006. they said Rs36000 is the out standing amount of the bill. wemeet with Station manager and D.M also. but nothing progress still now.

            This is Priyanka Saha from Barrackpore CMDA Nagar. I am logging a complaint against West bengal State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. I just dont understand that why always the area under WBEC suffer from this power failure issue. The regions under CESC are in much better condition than us. If the government is unable to manage the Power system then why dont they give it to a private ltd.
            We are actually disgusted by our power problems. Every day and night there is power failure for more than 12 hours.

            Power of damage
            CHECK-OUT / PUSHPA GIRIMAJI

            During the hot summer months, consumers not only face frequent disruptions in power supply, but also sudden surges in voltage. And sometimes these voltage spikes are so steep that they damage and destroy expensive household electrical and electronic appliances. In some cases, they may even damage the entire wiring or cause a major fire.

            When that happens, one would expect the power supply undertaking to take responsibility for its negligent service and make good the loss suffered by the consumer. But such expectations are often belied, forcing the consumer to seek the assistance of the consumer court for compensation. And the consumer courts have not disappointed the consumers.

            In the case of Rajendra Kumar Tripathi vs chairman, Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board, Lucknow (first appeal No. 80 of 2001, decided on December 12, 2006), for example, the consumer courts awarded adequate compensation to help the consumer recover the losses suffered on account of such a surge in supply, thereby sending a clear message to service providers that they cannot get away with negligent service.

            In this case, a steep voltage spike caused by a high tension line connecting with the low tension line supplying power to the consumer’s house had damaged the entire internal wiring in the house. It had also destroyed all the household electric and electronic appliances, but the power supply undertaking was unwilling to compensate the consumer. The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission awarded a compensation of Rs 1.75 lakh, along with interest at the rate of six per cent to be calculated from the date of filing the complaint (1992) till the date of payment.

            It also awarded litigation cost of Rs 5, 000 to the consumer. In another case, the consumer court awarded compensation to a chemist whose business was ruined on account of fire caused by a sudden voltage surge. Here, on the basis of the loss estimated by a surveyor, the state commission directed the board to make good the loss suffered by the consumer by paying Rs 2, 19, 316 along with 12 per cent interest. This was upheld by the national commission (Haryana State Electricity Board vs Anand Medicos, RP No. 563 of 2002).

            These two cases are important from the point of view of consumers as they protect the rights of consumers, hold electricity boards liable for poor service and provide adequate compensation to the affected consumers.

            How can I pay my electricity bill online being a consumer of West Bengal Electricity Distribution co. Ltd.
            The tea workers of Madhu Tea Estate, Hasimara, dist Jalpaiguri, West Bengal are getting electricity from 06 pm to 12 pm (6 hours) in night and two hours during day time. The supply of electricity is done at the whims of tea garden management at irregular basis. However, the workers have to pay Rs. 50/- per electric point for this 8 hours irregular electricity supply. The rate fixed by the tea garden management is very high and it has not got any govt. approval for this extortion. The local electricity authorities have full knowledge; however, it has not taken any action on tea garden management. The workers quarters have no proper electricity connections and they have just hooked the connection from poles and paying very high charge for little consumption of electricity. A lot of frisk accidents have been occurred at different times; however, local electricity authority has kept their eyes closed. There was a move to start electrification work in 1980 and few poles were erected in those days, however, corruption and others reason stopped it. Even today it is not sure when proper connection would be given, At present the workers are being fleeced and exploited like anything and nobody is bother as they are illiterate and poor

            In our area the electricity power distribution is not properly giving to us, as per Government orders only 6 hrs a day is power cut, but in our area the power cut is 20 hrs in a day.

            power failure for long period of time has become a regular phenomenon in our locality.it is very difficult to stay without lights and fans(specially during summer) for 2 hours twice a day.it is my earnest request to solve this problem immediately or else we will have to suffer a lot in this summer.

            Greeting from the electricity consumer, its has been notice that since west bengal electricity was started a power supply in kumai Tea Estate, Jaldhaka, Kalimpong 28 constituency is suffering form the electricity supply, now its very sadly we people of kumai tea estate is thinking that the wastage of money in installation of cable and pole at the sorrunding area, staffs of electricity board when in a months of disconnection they will come to repairs if we will inform to them then they will come and they asked for the back money. this the things should be complaints to the higher lavel, if it will be reapeted again then we will make a complaints top the upper lavel through internet.
            I DONT KNOW HOW FAR CONSUMER COURT OR CONSUMER FORUM TAKING ACTION AGAINST WBSEDCL BUT THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY WILL CONTINUE TURNING A DEAF EAR TO SUCH COMPLAINTS AND SUCH DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS WILL ARISE IN FUTURE UNTILL AND UNLESS THE WEST- BENGAL GOVERNMENT SET AN ENQUIRY AGAINST WBSEDCL REGARDING SUCH IRRESPONSIBLE AND NEGLIGENT BEHAVIOUR AND LETHARGIC ACTIVITIES OF THE RESPECTIVE OFFICERS!!             It is really surprising why, over so many years, WBSEB, now WBSEDCL should be neglecting their customers . I stay at a place called Sitaram Road located in Bansdroni, a constituency of Jadavpur that has sent up the State's present Chief Minister to his seat for two consecutive terms with an overwhelming mandate. Yet, WBSEDCL to us has continued to remain a synonym of bad service, unresponsive behavior and poor electricity supply. The voltage fluctuation in this particular area ( Sitaram Road) is to be experienced to be believed. For the last ten or fifteen years I have been hearing that the transformer here is defective and needs to be replaced. But that is all. The fluorescent lights turn dark, the fans develop defects every month, the chokes go short, electrical gadgetry burn out, no appliance can work and at times even voltage stabilizers fail to perform. No one is bothered. It's a stitch-and-survive policy, and no permanent solution looks forthcoming.

            West bengal State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd — Power failures

            Sir,
            This is Priyanka Saha from Barrackpore CMDA Nagar. I am logging a complaint against West bengal State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. I just dont understand that why always the area under WBEC suffer from this power failure issue. The regions under CESC are in much better condition than us. If the government is unable to manage the Power system then why dont they give it to a private ltd.
            We are actually disgusted by our power problems. Every day and night there is power failure for more than 12 hours.
            I dont know complaining here will solve any problem or not. But then also writing here for my satisfaction.

            I am Kamali Jana, a consumer under WBSEDCL(Sabang, Paschim Medinipur). My consumer Id no. is[protected]. My problem is power failures in form of phase out and it occurs at least 20 times in a month. It is done intessionally by the linesmen engaged for repairing the problem. As soon as I face the problem I use to complain by telephone to a toll free no. [protected] given me by a linesman (Pralay Das). This man-made problem I am facing becouse more I complaint they paid more.
            Please solve my problem taking necessary action. Thanking you.

              A person staying at 66/R F.D.Road Mallickpara,Serampore,Dist-Hooghly,State-West Bengal, has launched a studio but he has not taken permission from the authority for it.He's freely using his domestic electric connection for the commercial purpose.The authority has taken any legal action.It's a severe crime according to Indian Law.

              We want the criminal to be punished.

              I stay in Serampore,Hooghly,West Bengal.My neighbour Ms.Kanika Bishwas has launched a studio.And she has not taken permission from the authority required for the buisness purposes.She is using her personal electric connection for her buisness which is nothing but a severe crime.But,the local authority has not taken any cation for it.It's a serious crime according to Indian Law.


              Shall the authority be taking any action or shall we talk to Mass Media?
              The authority has been informed. If the authority is not empowered power to stop illegal use, It is no Authority.
