[Resolved]  West Bengal Taxi Service — Rude Behaviour of Taxi Driver

On 1st March'10 i boarded a Taxi ( WB - 04 C 8584 ) from Pantaloons Gariahat at 1:00 PM to go to Kasba which is a mere 10 mins drive.Initially a lot of Taxi drivers refused but at the end this driver agreed.I was carrying with me 8 - 9 bags from Food Bazar. On Entering the Lanes of Kasba the Driver started commenting that his head was spinning because of travelling in lanes.I did not pay heed or commented on any of his words. On Reaching home the Taxi meter had a Rate of 17 Rs.Ideally the payout would be 30 Rs.The taxi driver asked me to pay 40 Rs and on enquiring on reasons of the same he mentioned that it was for carrying the packets in his taxi.On refusal to pay he kept on mentioning that why did he then carry the packets and he should have refused to do so.A quarrel broke out and he insisted that i pay him for the time taken to bring out the 9 packets from the taxi which was hardly 1 min.In Order to close the conversation i paid him 2 Rs.Till the time he took out the taxi from the lane he kept on abusing.Would appreciate if measures are taken for such audacity and rude behaviour.
