Hello, This has reference to a matter regarding the disclosure of personal information at a D-Mart refund counter. I wanted to refund a product for which the executive at the refund section needed my personal information like mobile number, address, name. I refused to provide the details, as the bill contained the necessary details of the product. The executive informed me that it is a policy of D-Mart for processing a refund. How can a supermarket mandate me to disclose personal information just for a product refund? It should be completely optional as I had a valid bill, and I was refunding a product well within the timeline. Sharing the details : Location- D-Mart supermarket, Nerul Sector 21, Navi Mumbai Bill No[protected] Bill Date- 17th March 21 The policy needs to be revoked, as disclosing personal information to a third party is a choice and should not be coerced.
