I am a single tenant whose water usage is less than 5KL per month as I do not use washing machine or water cooler. This time, DJB sent a bill to my landlady for 10190.00 for 529 days whereas my last water bill was Rs.99 for 51 days. This is much more than one and a half times higher than my previous bill. This current bill is missing the last and current meter reading, and they have just put a random number o[censored]nits.
Also, in December 2020 the apartment was unoccupied for 3 weeks as I was away. I do not have visitors or anyone occupying the apartment with me, as a senior citizen living in this address for almost 10 years. Never have I received such a high water bill. the two married couples on GF and 1st and 2nd floor got normal bills much lower than mine. How is that posssible?
I went with my landlady on 3 April to file a complaint at Jal Vihar zonal office, but no response has been received and no action taken. I have also registered complaint No.[protected] yesterday on DJB Grievance site, but no action.
I request the DJB once again to kindly correct the bill and stop harassment of a senior citizen tenant. Until this is resolved, DJB should not include late payment charges in corrected bill. Was this information helpful? |
