Dear sir,

This is to apologies for having delayed in reporting about the theft of the water meter of my house.
On the day of 22nd January 2016, the water meter of my house was stolen. Since I had to leave for out of town on account of some urgent work, hence, I failed to lodge the complaint on time.
I would like to extend my sincere apologies for the delay and thank you for the prompt action of your department over catching the thief.
