I went to shop at Starmark South City Mall on Sunday, 14 July, 2013. I was there at 6pm and remained till 7.30pm. While I was entering the store, the security who keeps bags did not allow me to keep a SPENCER packet which had a cup, and ready to eat kababs. While I was buying VCDs at Starmark, the SPENCER packet slipped and the cup was broken. The cup costs 105 INR. Had the security allowed me to keep the packet which is the normal rule in Starmark, the newly bought cup would not have been broken. The security misbehaved. I am a regular customer of starmark and buy books and DVDs and VCDs. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO [protected]@starmark.in but they didn't care to reply. I will not buy and tell my friends and relatives to avoid the store. As if packets are allowed to be kept at near the entrance of the store, it becomes difficult shopping. I recently purchased PS3 CDs and an expensive PS Controller from Starmark Quest (On consecutive days) . on the first day I opened an account with starmark for discount.
I missed out on the second day while I purchased a cd worth Rs.1500, i did not ask them to add points at that moment. i realised while i went upstairs and hurried back down, tried to reach but the shop was closed (at around 9-9.30.)
the very next day i went to the counter with the original receipt and requested to add the point. The person was Mr. Sujoy on the desk. He clearly says points cannot be added if brought later than a day. I said i purchased last night round 9 and i am bringing it around 3 pm, its not even 24 hours. This guy carelessly shrugged off all the concerns.
I mean do we really need to care coming back if you cannot help customers using your points system when we buy so much every year, not only from Starmark, but since it was Landmark in Rabindra Sadan, and also buying loads of stuff from Chennai a decade back . Just a few hours late and your employees show their true nature. What has happened to the Brand? Spencer one is closed, South City -Many say its closed for good., Landmark has turned into more of an indian IKEA than a bookshop and now this is the behaviour from your biggest outlet.
I mean do you really care about the customers like they cared about you . 1500 rupees will fetch me only a 15 rupees discount, its a peanut.. but i am amazed at the dedication showed for buyers at the cashiers desk.
i buy cds worth 5300 and controller worth 3000, that too in quick succession and still your cashier isn't ready to redeem points for a 1500 worth of buy ?
I am hurt, truly hurt .. this isn't the same starmark i knew .. i will move on to better performers in the market, luckily for me there is still Oxford and College Street shops who still care for their customers.
