[Resolved] DishTV — complaint about all dth services and trai.. | |||
I picked my packs with dishtv india and submitted request. But no change in channel selection. I tried at least 5 days in a row. All i wanted is a simple telugu pack with channels. When i go to add channels there are several missing and i cannot find any where on their site. When i call the customer service is no help. They keep asking me to go to website and subscribe. I keep telling them that several telugu channels are missing, but they keep repeating their script like parrots. One of their rep told me to send a miss call as 1800568. I did that also, but no use. I am sick and tired of this stupid service change. Trai people as usual do not know what they are doing. Bunch of guys without any experience is telecom or services make decisions that effect billions of indians. It so sad. Also due to the new rules all prices have gone up by at least 18 to 20%. Trai should have people with experience worldwide and do sensible decisions. As usual what they do don't make good for people but only help corporates. Was this information helpful? | |||

As per new TRAI regulations, i was trying to change the packages since 25th of March 2019 multiple times, the package did not update, instead i got a token number and ticket number.
Since the recharge was empty i recharged for Rs200 and again tried in the following days hoping that new package would get subscribed and then pay the entire amount. Issue remained same and again recharged Rs.200 and called Toll free number " "[protected]" and CALL ME sms to 57575.
I get calls but with no help. Couple of calls ended like they had helped me to configure and the channels would refresh in 15 mins. It did not happened. When called and sms'ed again and again, same cycle happened. Couple of time my call got dropped inappropriately (i assume that your guys couldnt answer query, so the easy way would be to disconnect!!)
This clearly shows the attitude of your call center people towards the customers. I agree that your call volume is high due to this technical issue, but for us its a personal thing when it comes to watching TV. No matter how many times we call or seek help, you guys are bound to do that and not to fool us.
Ok now after multiple attempts, one of your call center guys said that the issue is with the "Zone", that even though i reside in Chennai my set-top box is configured to "North Zone" so i need to Select "North" as zone and do the channel configuration.
Hurray!!! channel is configured, I paid the entire amount!!
What then? as usual we are shown the "finger" - meaning now the 90% of the subscribed channels wont work with the message "301 - Signal not found". For example Star sports 1 works that belong to one of the subscribed package, rest of the channels of the same package get "301 error". Similar with POGO works and other related wont work

Again the cycle of cat-n-mouse happens (i call the call center, you guys drop and then i get flood of calls stating they are calling me due to my sms and missed calls to Toll-Free numbers)
I never gave up and explained the situation, none of them understood or pretend to be not understanding. They say that its our dish antenna or wiring or cable problem that need to be changed or configured.
Since the issue is after channel change as per TRAI, it is evident that you need to either remotely rectify this issue or send your technicians to resolve it, after all its not because of our issue. Previously there were occasions that we change residence, or change the cable or dish, we understand that its our issue and we need to pay for your service. But currently the issue is from your end. If you say that this issue is not due to the change of packages and its a fault of antenna, then i am ready to take it to the consumer redressal level.
Now finally i have to budge to your call center request that there is no service request raised from your end that the service technician would visit us (The complaint number we received from the call center is "Service Request number :[protected]").
I accepted for paid service and we got a new "Service Request number :[protected]" as we are loosing our money every day no matter we watch for we paid for. Considering this Rs 200, we are ready to donate the money
Highlight of this issue for now is, local technician called now and asking me that we need to pay in Cash (Rs200) to him otherwise he will not come for service. The call details are : Mob: [protected] - named Miglani (as per true caller id status)
We need to know we need to pay him in cash or as usual it will be adjusted from our recharge amount
Have some responsibility and resolve our issue without any cost. If you need cost for rectifying the mess, we are ok to donate!!
OR if you are in no position to help us, kindly disconnect our service starting today (11th of April 2019), and pay us the balance to our account deducting applicable charges. We are happy to get rid of something which has no value to us
