[Resolved]  DishTV — dish tv is a fraud company. it follows wrong money-making practices.

The set-top box (Stb) of my (Now disconnected) dishtv connection stopped working within about one year of the connection. When you ask for replacing it, they charges a total of rs. 645/- (450/- for stb + 150/- for technician's visit + taxes etc.). And most unbelievable fact is that they provide the replaced stb's warranty for 3-months (90 days) only.

So that means, god forbid, if the stb again stops working on the 91st day, you are technically "out of your warranty period" (A phrase that dishtv customer care folks are trained to use very promptly), and then you have to again get it replaced by paying rs. 645/-. And this process will keep on going. So this nothing but a fraud way of money-making practice that dishtv follows.

The reason why dishtv provides warranty only for 3-months (90 days), and not for at least 6 month or 1 year, is because they replace your faulty stb with their another old, faulty and refurbished stb only, which they also know that it will not last more than few months and then customer has to replace it again. And on top of that customer has to pay the rs. 600/- plus replacement charges. And that's where they makes additional money.

And the reason why most of the dishtv stbs stop working after few months of installation is because the set-top boxes that dishtv provides are of cheap china made. It is of very low quality. It takes long pause to start as well.

So don't go for dishtv. Dishtv is a fraud company. It follows wrong money-making practices. Go for any other satellite tv connection like i did after this experience.

Hello Online Dish TV team,
Another huge problem with Dish TV is that every time you contact them with your problem, they only feel sorry, but do nothing. Since they have no quality service to offer, no quality practice in place, and no quality stb even, so they have kept "lots of sorries" in their storage and they keep distributing these sorries whenever customer ask for a solution. Disgusting...
