DishTV — Unethical behaviour

22nd June 2015 I have been a dishTV customer for many years now, I moved from the standard STB to HD STB few years back. Recently I also upgraded to child connection from DishTV. I have been a loyal customer of yours for all this time, however, now I am feeling cheated and mistreated by DishTV. Recently my main STB (or parent box) developed a problem where it would freeze up or hang, the only option is to restart the STB after switching of the main power and switching it back on. For this problem I raised a service request with DishTV and this has been my ordeal. DishTV technician came over to my place asked what the problem was and simply stated that the box needs to be changed. I said ok and what will be the charges to which he quickly totaled all applicable taxes and arrived at a charge of 1130 rupees. I said fine and allowed him to proceed with the replacement. To my horror I found that the box he was replacing with was a repaired (in elegant terms - refurbished) STB. This had no cover, no paperwork, no guarantee or warranty card. It did not even have its own adaptor or other wiring but just the used box. Now, my question is, is this how you treat your existing loyal customer base by providing such sub standard warranty less services. Is this what I deserve for being a loyal customer of DishTV all these years and for even multiple connections. You charge full cost and provide something so horrible and the customer service has nothing to offer. I am highly dis-satisfied with your product at this point of time and will certainly never recommend your products to anyone because of the kind of treatment your company has given me at this point. I am in fact going to explore the offers available from other such service providers in hopes of finding better options.
