On 16.02.2016, i've purchased htc one m8 from a seller named "umarmasroor4338" in ebay. the item was under 1 month seller warranty, i really don't remember whether the warranty includes software or hardware or both aspects.in product description page, the item was mentioned as new & a declaration was given that box has been opened for product testing. the delivery speed was damn fast, the day i ordered the item, it arrived on the very next day. i felt happy & surprised at the same time. but when i unboxed the mobile after going home in the evening, i discovered that the speaker was faulty. then on the very next day, i contacted the seller & he assured for return & replacement. i have repacked & returned the item by courier at my own expense. then they delivered another handset, which was a cdma only handset. but, in the item description, it was clearly mentioned that the mobile works for both gsm & cdma, though data will work for gsm only. again i tried to call the seller, but by their response i understood that they have started losing interest. but yet they have to get the approval of receipt from my side on ebay. so, again i returned the item by courier at my own expense. then they have sent a new handset checked by one of my acquaintances from the seller locality. at first look, the handset i received was ok. i started using the handset. for a period of time, the performance was excellent. then i discovered that the android system of the handset is rooted, which is a violation of item description as “new”. the slowly the lcd panel of the handset started coming out from the body. up to this, i was somehow tolerating the mobile since i got irritated from the seller. but after few weeks, the battery of the mobile was dead & i was unable to charge it. then i contacted the supplier, but their response was worse than the previous, after calling more than dozen times, they texted me that since the handset is having a hardware issue, they can’t replace the mobile, but they will repair the mobile & they will charge for it. so, i lost hope on the seller & hence i’m complaining for a refund since i’m more than confident that the seller is unable to replace the item. immediate response will be highly appreciated. 21 business days are gone, but still Ebay is escalating the problem to their concerned team (as they communicated). I'm really curious to know how long is the escalator, what is the escalator speed & how much time it will take to reach the communication to the concerned team.
Pro-active response will be highly appreciated, though I firmly believe in their inefficiency & lethargic approach.
I'm dying to see when they will reach to the conclusion that I'm genuinely suffering through a problem & it should be resolved in no time.
I've checked with some local vendors also, they've given an estimation of about 5000 INR for repair, if they would have given an estimation lower than 2000 INR, I would've repaired it because I've lost hope in Ebay customer service.
On the positive side, it was an eye-opener for me that how Ebay is cheating their customers & fooling round even after receiving a complaint.
This was the last purchase from my side in Ebay. I'll also make sure that none of my friend purchases from Ebay & suffers if problem occurs.
From the very first purchase, I was referring to all of my acquaintances to purchase from Ebay, but now I'll strongly recommend them to purchase from anywhere but Ebay.
