i am diabetic and suffering with fever. I was admitted but they forced me to go to ICU, Very reluctantly they admitted me to the room. They started injecting drugs without doctor checking me. From next day doctors start coming in and I have to narrate my Sickness to all and also history of my medicine. All of them seems to have short memory or do not believe in reading file. They did all possible test on me and finally suggested bronchosopy . When I refused and did not allow them. Senior doctors came and told me that i may have cancer
I found that I am trapped as they will give me non diabetic food. stopped all my diabetic medicines , my sugar was kept at 400. Finally i fought and got my self discharged with fever after paying over a lakh of rs.
Next day i showed to other doctor who make me normal in 48 hours and diagnosed me with Pneumonia
In simple words they are cheats

Went there today with a appointment of 11AM with Dr. Mohan Keshvamurthy . Doctor turns up at 3:00PM. All kept saying doctor is coming in next 5-10 mins. The staff is pathetic. They were very rude and treated patients like unwanted trespassers. That is after paying Rs.450/-.
All other assistant doctors there in urology department are hijras , after explaining all the problems and symptoms they say wait for the Dr Mohan to come , not sure why there are there ,considering floors were clean ,probably they do the sweeping . Doctor also doent listen to what you want to say and has pre-Conceived notions and will mention that only. Sincere advice is to avoid urology department of Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta Road .

Negligence towards my Dad treatment at Fortis Vasant Kunj

      Address: New Delhi, Delhi

My father K.K. Sabharwal was admitted in emergency on 22nd Mar’2012 around 8:30pm as he was
vomiting, sweating and shivering. I thought he must have got a Gastric attack due to which he was
continuously vomiting. I took his previous history with me where he was treated for Brain(in Indian
Spinal Injuries) and Heart(Fortis). Since his doctor don’t go much to ISH, we got his in Fortis. While handing over my dad at emergency,...

1.ill behavior while making appointment for urodynamic test of a 65+ patient, harassed by hospital authority, they started laughing asking 'is his condition that serious to be concerned of?'!!!!!
      2. after calling 3 times, they just told to call later n put the calls in hold in the name of searching some file, and later denied to make appointment.
      3. started joking with patient party,is this something we should expect from hospital authority that takes huge amount of money in the name of simple tests..........but in return shows negligence in duty, irresponsibility and utters filthy words unnecessarily..............!!!!!!!
we are shocked at his behavior(Mr. Dinabondhu,no:-[protected],extension 212,Fortis Health Care,Kolkata).....we have no hope to get an answer from the deaf authority................but by any chance, can't we expect a little justice?

I fixed up an appointment for consultation with Dr. Mohan Keshvamurthy for 12:30 PM on 21st November 2011.

I received a SMS confirming the same on my mobile.

I reached there 10 minutes earlier and paid the fees and started waiting-but the wait never ended. Every half an hour or so, I asked the reception when my turn would come, and they kept lying to me that it would come in the next 5 to 10 minutes.

I then found out that the Doctor had not come at all-so I asked the reception people to give me a clear picture. They again misguided me that the doctor would be there any minute.

I waited till 3:30 PM with pain and suffering, but the doctor never turned up.

This is not the way a professional Hospital works. Their attitude was absolutely pathetic. They are just there to make money and fleece you.

I would not recommend anyone to visit such a irresponsible Hospital.

Fortis Hospital Banngerghatta Road, Bangalore Urology Department is a sham . The staff is pathetic, treat patients like unwanted trespassers, doctors are never there on time. Appointments are a sham. They don’t follow that . Please go at your own risk. Avoid if you can . Based on 3 visits over last 15 days.

          Hi,
I went for vacination to Marathalli clinic of Fortis for my kid, they charged me some x amount for that which was more than MRP but when asked they told that it is the system generated price we cannot do anything and they were not ready to listen it.
Due to some reason i went to Banergatta fortis for regular heath checkup for by kid to the child specialist which we were referrring from baby's birth and also for the second dose for the same vaccine which was given at marthalli, when enquired the price was around 250 rupees less than the price they charged me at marathalli clinic of fortis.
Later on stating the concern they told me they are sorry and they were asking for my home address for money refund.

It was by chance that I went to another branch of Fortis and came to know abt the price difference but what about the parent who have taken the vacination from marathalli....
I was thiniking to file a case in consumer court for this please suggest....

          Thanks

Incident happen when I went to hospital after taking appointment for my wife to be checked for swelling in feet and legs.
My wife is suffering from high blood pressure, as well as heart ailment, the doctor after taking whole analysis from my wife about the current and past symptoms, prescribed several number of tests, which includes tests for Thyroid, kidney, sugar, arthritis, urine, etc. The medication which he prescribed was only calpol. In the evening when my wife's condition detoriated she gave a call to the doctor on his mobile which he had provided, along with his residence cum clinic address, he told my wife that there is no need to worry as the tests could be conducted even after 10-15 days and dont waste his time. he was abusive and refused any further suggestion.

Even after charging a lumpsum fees of Rs. 850/-, i just want to know that if anything serious happens to my wife, then who is responsible, fortis hospital or dr. s c gera.

If these kind of doctors/hospitals are on a track of money making machine, then where the common people like us should go. Even the hospital staff and MS are avoiding our pleas. Kindly take action immideatly to save life of several people who are becoming a victim of these kind of immoral and unethical proferssional, who onlyknow how to risks a person life for money .

Statement Of Maj. Pankaj Rai (Rtd.)

I lost my wife last year at Fortis Hospital Bangalore. The case has been investigated by Honorable Lokayukta and his findings are attached. Subsequently, Government of Karnataka has cancelled the organ transplant license of Fortis Hospital.

Fortis does not have a license for pancreas and yet did a pancreatic transplant. The fact that they do not have a license for pancreas has been confirmed by the registration authority as well as by DGHS - Government of India.

Dirty Politics in a well-known hospital like Fortis (Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore)!!
Today I was a victim of dirty politics combined with gender bias in such a famous hospital. I am TB patient and very sick but was not allowed to use the elevator today because some "important guy" was being shifted from the x-ray room to another floor. A doctor whose name I later found out to be Deepak R. ordered my mom and I to get out of the elevator because some other patient had to be shifted. We stepped out of the elevator and waited for ten whole minutes! This so-called doctor blocks the entry to the elevator and tells us we have to take the stairs because some "important person" is being shifted! After waiting for ten minutes we try to get back on the elevator but he pushes us out and starts yelling at us. Says that he will call security and have us thrown out of we do not get off the elevator. When I finally decide that I have had enough of this cheap so-called doctor and step out to leave he tries to create another scene by blocking my way and falsely accusing me of calling him names! Being a woman it was indeed very disturbing when he came up to my face like he is about to hit me! AlI this for what?? He just held the elevator idle for nothing. I would have understood if there was a patient on a wheelchair or a bed but we were asked to take the stairs just because this Doctor wanted to wait for some guy who did not even exist!!?? You would think a hospital like Fortis would give equal care and treatment to all patients but unfortunately I was shown otherwise today. Me a TB patient and my mom a diabetic and arthritis patient were asked to take the stairs because some other invisible patient was more important to them..why?? Because we are women or because the sick doctor was in a mood to hold up the elevator? Being an NRI this is the most ridiculous experience I have had in India so far! Very sad. I would like to press charges against him and the hospital for denying me timely treatment and refusing to provide basic hospital services. I am not going to let this pass. The pain and trauma this whole thing caused me today will not go unheard.

Message From the Husband of a Dead Wife !
by Swapnil Narendra on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 4:17pm

This is the story of a man, named Srijan Sharma, who lost his wife due to neglegence of Fortis hospital, NOIDA.

                    Hi

With deep regret I want to inform you the demise of my wife Rupali Sharma on

17th July due to post operative complication after brain surgery.

I would also like to bring to your notice how private hospitals like FORTIS

are robbing people of their life and money. Please be very careful while

dealing with such hospitals. Find below the details of my experience with

                    Fortis Noida.

My wife age 29 ( occupation- trainer with HCL) was diagnosed with a non

malignant brain tumor on 17th June2011. She did not have any major symptoms

like headache, eye problem or vomiting. She was suggested surgery for

removal of tumor. We took opinions from Max, Indo Gulf and finally decided

on Fortis because of the good reputation of Dr. A K Singh.

Doctors did not make us aware that it is a very complicated surgery and said

that there are only incidental risks. "Amount of risk involved is same as

the risk when you come from your home to hospital"

On the date of admission I pointed out several times that my wife was having

severe cough and cold. It was ignored by doctors saying "Everything is

perfect". Later on Dr Sanjay Gupta admitted that this could have led to

infection. How could they ignore it? Moreover the doctor preponed the surgery

by one day because he had to go outside India. We were totally unaware of

that. Why did not they postpone the surgery instead?

From day one the team did not have any consensus on how the tumor will be

removed. They said that they will try from nose first , if not they will cut

open the skull. On the day of operation (8th July)they said after 5 hrs that

they could not extract tumor through nose so .. they will open the skull. My

dear wife had to go through both the procedures. The whole operation took 12

                    hrs.

Post operative care is pathetic. Why was my wife given sandwich and chole

chawal in ICU after next day of such a major surgery? My wife vomitted on 13

July morning and was drowsy. We immediately alarmed the doctors on duty. But

they ignored the situation saying that everything is normal. In the evening

she was perspiring, We again alarmed doctors on duty but no action was

taken. If the doctors have been proactive they could have saved my wife.

By 14th morning the condition had deteriorated and doctors took her to ICU

and put her on ventilator saying it is not required but as a precaution they

were doing it.The worst part is that senior doctors A K Singh and Sanjeev

Dua went out of country on that day. We tried to reach them through various

means but they were not available for next 3 days. (How could they leave two

patients in such a serious condition? There was another patient with similar

case in ICU who also died )

Doctors who were available ( Vikas Gupta, Bundela, Sanjay Gupta ) acted like

bunch of . They could not diagnose the problem and condition

deteriorated every day. There was total lack of leadership and no team work

at all. Each doctor gave a different reason for the problem ( lung

infection, hypo perfusion, brain infection none of which was confirmed by

the time of death). On 14th July, doctors were saying that there is lung

infection but they had not called any lung specialist. It is only when we

suggested , they called an expert? Why did not they call the experts on

                    there own?

On 16th July Dr. Vivek Chawla was instructed to update us the condition by

7:00 am in morning. However we were not informed till 11:00 Am that she had

a cardiac arrest at 4:00 am. My wife's cousin (who is a doctor in AIIMS)

visited Fortis Neuro ICU on 17th July , he told me that my wife was already

dead. After he left , hospital declared dead my wife. Otherwise they would

have continued with ventilator for god knows how many days. One of the lady

doctor in ICU very shamefully admitted that there was negligence on part of

                    doctors.

The hospital has international standards in only the exorbitant rated they

charge. They gave me an estimate of 2.5 lakhs to cure my wife and charged Rs

5.5 lakhs for her deadbody. We were never communicated that the charges had

gone beyond the estimate. How could they expect us to deposit more than

double the amount at the time of death on a Sunday evening?

There was no doctor from Neurosurgery team available when the death was

declared. When we shouted at the authorities they were quick enough to call

the police within minutes. But they could not get any doctor to confirm the

cause of death or at least give a condolence message as a human gesture. We

had to immediately arrange double the estimated cost, otherwise they would

not give us the dead body.

We had a meeting with hospital management and team of doctors on 4th Aug.

Where doctors accepted majority of our allegations. We demanded a return of

the extra money paid and action against doctors. Director Mr Sukhmeet Sandhu

assured a response by phone in two days. After 8 days we received a

                    condolence message with no action.

Nowadays hospitals believe in profiteering even at the cost of life. There

is no trasparency and they put people on ventilator even when it is not

required. Very careless attitude of doctors, nurses and other staff. Again

                    warning you against such malpractices.

Kindly request you to forward this mail to all your friends and relatives

and request you to suggest me good lawyer/ agency who could help me in

                    dealing with this situation.

My wife age 29 ( occupation- trainer with HCL) was diagnosed with a non malignant brain tumor on 17th June2011. She did not have any major symptoms like headache, eye problem or vomiting. She was suggested surgery for removal of tumor. We decided on Fortis because of the good reputation of Dr. A K Singh.

Doctors did not make us aware that it is a very complicated surgery and said that there are only incidental risks. "Amount of risk involved is same as the risk when you come from your home to hospital"

On the date of admission I pointed out several times that my wife was having severe cough and cold. It was ignored by doctors saying "Everything is perfect". Later on Dr Sanjay Gupta admitted that this could have led to infection. How could they ignore it?The doctor preponed the surgery by one day because he had to go outside India. We were totally unaware of that. Why did not they postpone the surgery instead?

From day one the team did not have any consensus on how the tumor will be removed. They said that they will try from nose first , if not they will cut open the skull. On the day of operation (8th July)they said after 5 hrs that they could not extract tumor through nose so .. they will open the skull. My dear wife had to go through both the procedures. The whole operation took 12 hrs.

Post operative care is pathetic. Why was my wife given sandwich and chole chawal in ICU after next day of such a major surgery? My wife vomitted on 13 July morning and was drowsy. We immediately alarmed the doctors on duty. But they ignored the situation saying that everything is normal. In the evening she was perspiring, We again alarmed doctors on duty but no action was taken. If the doctors have been proactive they could have saved my wife.

By 14th morning the condition had deteriorated and doctors took her to ICU and put her on ventilator saying it is not required but as a precaution they were doing it.The worst part is that senior doctors A K Singh and Sanjeev Dua went out of country on that day. We tried to reach them through various means but they were not available for next 3 days. (How could they be so irresponsible to leave two patients in such a serious condition? There was another patient with similar case in ICU who also died )

Doctors who were available ( Vikas Gupta, Bundela, Sanjay Gupta ) acted like bunch of . They could not diagnose the problem and condition deteriorated every day. There was total lack of leadership and no team work at all. Each doctor gave a different reason for the problem ( lung infection, hypo perfusion, brain infection none of which was confirmed by the time of death). On 14th July, doctors were saying that there is lung infection but they had not called any lung specialist. It is only when we suggested , they called an expert? Why did not they call the experts on there own?

On 16th July Dr. Vivek Chawla was instructed to update us the condition by 7:00 am in morning. However we were not informed till 11:00 Am that she had a cardiac arrest at 4:00 am. My wife’s cousin (who is a doctor in AIIMS) visited Fortis Neuro ICU on 17th July , he told me that my wife was already dead. After he left , hospital declared dead my wife. I would request you to look into this matter and make people aware of the situation of private hospitals in NCR.

I recently did a Health Check up for my parents at Fortis Hospitals, Bannerghatta Road. As part of the tests there was Stool Routine included. My parents however missed to provide a Stool sample. Even then in the set of reports they provided me with Stool routine report. How is this possible??
This casts a doubt on all tests performed and also on the healthcare services offered by this fraudulent chain of hospitals.
They take > 50 patients per day and process all the tests within half a day. I suspect many of the reports provided are just fudged. This is a serious issue since it could be potentially life threatening. I hope serious action is taken against this practice.
Kindly do the needful and tell me what I need to do to take this further.

                        Regards

I also have similar experience at Fortis Cunningham Road, coming to their consultation charges, i am sure many would have experience the same, we paid the consultation charges of 500, got the doctor consultation done, doctor had asked us to do few tests on the hospital premises which cost us 3500, after getting the test done, the doctor charges another 500 to see the reports, funny...I don't know how professional they are, but they are NOT the Best Hospital neither they have the Best doctors...they are in this Business solely loot money from people in the name of Service.

I don't know how good FORTIS hospital is! But I would like to inform everyone to take care of your vehicle while parking within fortis hospital because there are very bright chances that your goods like stereo or other costly items will be stolen.

I lost my car stereo within half an hour. After going through all security heads / doctor's head i got to know that they are all together and i could not find anyone to help me to resolve this issue.

This was my first and worst experience with FORTIS!!!

I had a Executive health check up from Fortis. In which they mentioned Ultrasound for Liver cirrhossis problem.I went immediately to Fotis doctor GAESTROLOGIST furthur he recoomened many blood test.
But later on i consulted another doctor outside & got ultrasound. But the problem in liver was not cirrhossis , it was fatty liver Which is at a initial stage.
Now my treatment is going outside.
I mean to say that Fortis hospital is money minded hospital which spoils cases of patients & diagonose is
                            quite poor.

Take a patient who is suffering with pain to a corporate hosital, the hospital see them money machine, subject them to all tests available in the hospital whether necessary or not, not once but many a times and even then, they dont have the personnel or specialist who can diagnoise the actual cause of the disease. Not once but multiple times they do trial and error and charge and pull out every penny from the patients family and above all subject the patient to bear all the emotional and mental pain.

As you sow so shall you reap
                            I agree.
If you need to visit hospital on holidays, then you are screwed with 'holi' bills. They charge with hidden heavy charge called "Observation Charges".
Hospital should stick a big board in reception of Emergency section, which is the only one open in holiday too, which says "Observation charges = 2500/-". So that, we can rush back to some small clinic for any minor treatment like getting bandage to fresh wound, getting consultation for high fever etc.
These people really suck blood. I really pity on people, who dn't go for insurance.

I have had a very bad experience with Fortis Jaipur. The doctors are liars over there.I lost my father because of Fortis. They hide all the facts from you. They discharged my father after Coronary By pass surgery done by Dr. Ajeet Bana saying that he is fine and just needs to take his medications on time.He had some respiratory complications after the surgery. But we were told that he is going to be fine and there was nothing to worry about and his lungs and heart are completely normal. They kept on moving my father back and forth from ICU.So he was on ventilator and oxygen most of the time when he was in hospital.

I am sure my father got a lung infection after or during the surgery which they could not treat. They never accepted this fact. And i lost my father two days after discharge .And they said the reason was aspiration.

They are liars. And they are only there for money not for medical services.I saw on the reports in my fathers room that he had a cardigenic shock. These guys never told us about it.They are liars. But the bottom line is that i lost my father.I can never get him back.No one should go to fortis as you cannot trust them with your lives and your loved ones lives.

This complain is regarding Dr Madhu Srivastav ( Gynacologist) . Being a senior doctor i regret to say that she doesnot know how to behave with her patients . After spending amounts in your hospital we just get a minute out of the doctor, the doctor is always in hurry and not at all corporating. My queries remains unanswered due to her ignorance towards her patient, As she just want to finish maximum number of patients. Dont you think after spending 500 re on each visit one patient need some proper attention and some satisfactory answers from a doctor. But I am really felt as I am in a village hospital. And I discussed this with many of my friends even they told me same about her. It made me feel that finally Fortis made hospitals as a business unit, And all its doctors are in hurry to suck more and more money out of patients. Pathetic .......

My complaint is against the billing department of Fortis Hospital Kolkata. We were planning for THR of my father-in-law at Fortis and for this we colsulted Dr. Debashish Chakraborty (Orthopedic). He informed us that the cost would be Rs 1,50,000/-. On 20 March 2011 we went to admit my father-in-law for THR and there we came to that there is no such package, and the minimum package is Rs 1,65,000. From billing Mr Subhrajit has informed us that this package include 10 days stay and if does not required then it will be adjusted accordingly and amount will be refunded. We believed on that persons word, agreed on that and signed the required documnets. Operation was fine and doctor allowed him to discharge after 5 days stay. To our surprise when we went to billing department to make the necessary payment we have been given a bill of Rs 167,004/-. When we asked about the adjustment to be made for room rent as we are staying only 5 days they said its not adjustable. We said we have been told this by Mr Subhrajit, they contacted him and that person simply denied the stuff. Other billing member insisted that we have misunderstood it. I asked take the footage of CCTV then they simply changed their tone and saying you have signed the paper where it is mentioned 165000+investigation+Highly consumable (As a layman its very tough for us to understand the nitty-gitties ofr the terms mentioned in the paper what is highly comsumable and what is consumable). In front o[censored]s they are making some changes in the bill that really me and my husband was unable to understand and showing a bill of Rs. 165,000. One of the menber of billing department that Rs. 165000 is not at all a package we have been given this estimate after consultation with doctor though it was a package. When I shouted then they agreed its a package. We repeatedly asked them to call Mr Subhrajit so that we can talk face to face but they are simply trying to safe gaurd thein employee. Our doctor asked us to contact Ms Sohini regarding this and we thought of complaning about their staff. To my greater surprise she was not available till we left the hospital. Lastly with no option left we had to pay the whole amount and leave. In such a prestigious hospital there is no importance of word or the promise they give. No one was there to take our complain such a rediculous administration.

Be careful when you next time going to Fortis for any reason. Do not believe their word keep everything as documented and take proper signature so that they can claim. Dont know how could one believe even doctors of such a hospitals - they will assure by words only that your patient will be absolutely fine but later you find yourself in a bad situation that present.

BE AWARE OF FORTIS KOLKATA DO NOT GO BY THEIR WORD.

On 12th March, 2011 at Fortis Hospital, NOIDA, Sector 62, Main Reception Hall

There was a ruckus in the main reception hall when a dead patient's parents complained about negligence by Fortis doctors. The patient had expired at around 11 AM on 12th March. This news was obviously shocking to the parents. While the parents were lamenting this sudden loss and complaining about the callous treatment meted out to them, an administrative officer of FORTIS Hospital came in and started pushing both the parents. He ordered the hospital guards to push the grieving parents out of the hospital.

Till this time, the onlookers were disturbed by the wails of the lamenting parents but nobody objected as they felt the gravity of the situation and the emotional distress of parents. However, this administrative officer was absurd and arrogant and spoke in autocratic manner. He manhandled them and spoke in an abusive manner.

At this point in time, the public burst out and came to the rescue of the parents. Seeing the ire of the public against this behavior of FORTIS hospital, the administrative officer immediately vanished from the spot. The general public mostly those who come for treatment gathered in the main reception and demanded an apology from the hospital against this unwarranted and inhumane behavior. However, the hospital staff dilly-dallied the scenario, called police, which acted in its favor.

Media personnel could reach only after the gathering was cleared by force by police.

My complaint is against FORTIS HOSPITAL NOIDA as to how can they allow the administrative officer to continue with the hospital? How can it allow its staff to show such errant behavior? They should remove this crazy officer who acted in an unruly manner without showing any signs of humanity while talking to parents of an expired child. He not only brings bad name to the hospital but mars the good work done by other hospital staff. He is not fit to work in hospital but maybe some underworld organization.

I am sure the hospital would find some excuse as they seemed to have total control over the situation - the patient's case, the doctors, the police etc. The warning here is that, FORTIS HOSPITAL getting too CRAZY in doing business in a sensitive sector like healthcare?

The rude behavior with parents of a dead child and manhandling them did not seem to be the correct action by any standards.

Ya. I was there too today morning.

The short-guy with hitler-type moustache, was really mad. I am sure if he had the freedom, he would have kicked those people. Am not sure what happened later. I hope the hospital handled the rest of the issue properly with a humane touch.

Let's not forget that anybody can be meted the same fate.
