Fortis Healthcare — huge bills generated with little attention to the patients needs although treatment is good

My mother was admitted to fortis multi speciality hospital anandpur in emergency early morning on 30-1-20 and was kept in the icu with milti organ failure and frequent dialysis in the icu which housed only one dialysis machine and hence scheduled timings could not be adhered to. She was in a terribly bad state with her hands tied up, pipe in her mouth, oxygen masks and nebulisers etc.
She was hardly eating anything since days since the urine was not passing out and her body was bloated and swollen. The charges per day were around rs.50000 per day with excessive charges for petty tests and dialysis etc. We could afford it but how many people can bear such huge expenses?
The oxygen masks etc were very tight and the marks of the mask can still be seen on her face as clots even after more than a month of discharge. When she was shifted to hdu she was starving and she complained that she was not liking the food she was provided and felt like vomiting. We requested the hdu doctors to get the food menu changed so that she could feel better and eat something to recoup herself. The last day suji pias was given which she could eat otherwise there was hardly anything to eat as per her taste.
Would request the hospital staff to give better attention to the patients specially those in icu and reduce the rates of the various tests which do not cost even half elsewhere. I am not talking about the doctors’-fees etc but about the other charges and attention to the patients.
A private hospital doesn’t mean that they follow monopolistic policies to any extent. There should be rationality in charging vid a vid the market and some governmental control over private hospitals too.

I am not specifying the name of the patient here for not making it public-the hospital has enough information to find out from its records
