Genius Attestation — complete joke. failure to attest degree certificate - 1.5 months delay and no communication whatsoever

I have a european university certificate that i needed attested. I approached genius attestation in november & they asked me to send over a scan of my documents to see if they could attest it for me. They reviewed it and said that they could get it done, and by the end of november they picked up my documents. I paid 50% of the total fee and they told me the entire process would take approx 22 days (Which i assume is working days, so i counted on this taking approx a month, especially with christmas holidays coming up).

Mid dec i'm emailing the lady at genius attestation who arranged for the pickup, and the email bounces back saying the address doesn't exist which raises a red flag. I email multiple other addresses i can find related to them + call their dubai office, and after numerous calls i'm finally getting ahold of someone who tells me that the lady no longer works there.

I called their office again during the end of dec to check in on the process using my tracking number, and was told that the documents are in europe and that they don't have more insight than that.

2nd week of jan passes and it's now been 7 weeks of not getting any insights into when my documents will be ready. After calling the dubai office 3-4 times/day for 3 days and being promised call-backs from the correct team (Which never happened until on the 3rd day and after me following up and starting to get really frustrated), they tell me that the documents are there with them and they will be delivered to me the following day.

As promised, i get the documents delivered. To my big surprise i open the envelope and find that they have not been attested. Not a single stamp, signature... Etc. They look exactly the same as they did when i left them. I call back to their dubai office (Which is probably the 10th time this week) and ask why they're not attested. The lady on the phone then tells me that they "just found out" that they couldn't attest them... (Starting to wonder if it's a joke at this point?!). I am now requesting a refund of the 50% of the fee i've already paid, and have probably never seen an example of worse service or communication to a customer.

This whole experience has taken a lot of effort and pushing on my part, and not once during the numerous calls i've had with them following up, have i've been informed that they might not be able to attest it or that something is wrong. I am now in a situation where this document should have been handed over to my employer multiple weeks ago, and i have to restart the entire process from scratch. Overall, these guys are really a waste of everyone's time & money.
