Dear Go Air,
This is regarding my booking for my wife (Teena Rathee) traveling from Pune to Delhi on 18-Sepetember-2015, Flight No: G8-174, PNR No: HPKBF7.
RATHEE, TEENA MS
Date Dep Time From To Flight No. Terminal Airline Status
18Sep2015 11:35 PUNE NEW DELHI G8 - 174 GOAIR Confirmed
While traveling she was 33-34 week pregnant. During checking in the baggage the go air ground staff (MS Mandeep Kaur) asked if she is pregnant, she replied yes. Mandeep asked her for fit to fly medical certificate. Teena handed over the certificate to Mandeep Kaur. Medical certificate was dated 15-Sepetember-2015. Mandeep demanded for a new certificate with same date. Flight boarding was already started. My wife requested that this is very important for her to travel in same flight, but no use, she didn’t listen. My first question, is it possible to get a medical certificate within 30 minutes?
When I spoke with Mandeep on call and tried to explain her how we can get a medical certificate in 30 minutes, she argued and hung up the call. Again I tried to explain her that there is nowhere mentioned in goair policy that medical certificate must be within 24 hrs, she did not listened to me and asked me to come to airport.
Till I reached the airport flight was already departed and my wife was standing at goair counter, nobody offer her a seat to sit or water. Is it a way to behave with a pregnant lady? You are so much concerned about her health that you are not allowing her to fly and you are forcing her stand for last one hour, harassing her mentally.
When I reached airport and showed them the policy document that nowhere it is mentioned it must be within 24 hours. They were not ready to accept their fault. They keep on arguing, I also had a flight to catch up in evening for my business presentation. We accepted the night flight for my wife. But my whole day meshed up because of go air staff. I had to cancel all the arrangement for my wife and had to make re-arrangements again. I could not focus on my work and disturbed for next 2 days.
Now let me come to your policy on your website
https://www.goair.in/terms-conditions
“From 28th week to 36 weeks – requires a Medical Certificate as "Fit to Fly as a Customer/Fit for Air Travel" valid for travel date, ideally issued in the last 24 (twenty four) hours from a Consulting Obstetrician & Gynecologist. The medical certificate should be acceptable to the Duty Manager/Airport Manager and in case of doubt/clarification; the company doctor may be contacted for necessary advice. A copy of medical certificate to be retained by GoAir.”
This policy never says that medical certificate must be issued within 24 hours. It says ideally issued in 24 hours. Either you have different policy document for your employee and customer. Or your employees don’t know the rules. Or they don’t understand English.
First I demand written apologies from your ground staff Mandeep Kaur and strict action against her. And Or I will file a case for mental harassment and distress caused by your staff. I demand settlement for the loss of money and time happened because of negligent and rude behavior from your staff. Was this information helpful? |
