GoAir — Cancellation of Flight 3 hrs before departure | |||||
I sandeep a. deshpande (along with 11 other members including 5 children and 1 senior citizen) had booked return ticket from mumbai to chandigarh by goair flight (g8-381 dt. 29th april 2017 and g8-384 dt. 5th may 2017, departure time 19:05 hrs and reporting time 17:05 hrs) vide pnr no. – d1y29l (5 members), 4brb8u (1 member), gvor5l (3 members) and qoe7mg (3 members). i had made all these bookings well in advance on 10th february 2017. we had done web check-in on 2nd may 2017 (72 hrs before as per goair rules) and booked our seats in advance by paying extra amount for all. on 5th may 2017 while we were heading towards airport, at 16:04 hrs i received an automated call from goair informing me that my flight is cancelled and for further assistance, i should contact their no. – [protected] or [protected]. after many attempts we were able to get in touch with goair representative who was unaware of the rules and could not answer what should i do. i again dialled the second number, the representative after checking with here senior replied that there are two alternatives – 1) either i should travel their flight within next 30 days at same cost (but the seats were full for next 2 days and they could make arrangement for 7th may 2017 only) 2) i should claim for full refund. Both the above options were not feasible for me as – 1) we could not wait till 7th may 2017 and also goair was not ready to make any arrangement for stay for days. 2) what would i do taking refund at last moment? which will get deposited after 7 days from then? I had to travel all the way from chandigarh to delhi (spending rs. 6800/- extra) by 2 nos. innova cars. and also book the tickets at higher rates (rs. 7500/- per head). further i had to bear other miscellaneous charges (approx. – rs. – 5000/-) and also face lots of trouble. As per my knowledge goair should have arranged us to travel on very next flight on same sector, or should have made the arrangement to travel from delhi to mumbai, made arrangement for stay till next flight get available. I request goair to refund all the amount with 4 months interest, pay me 150, 000/- towards the extra expense and situation i had to face. Was this information helpful? | |||||
