GoAir — Complaint Against Goair and HappyFares for Non-Refund of Cancelled Flight

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Goair and HappyFares for their failure to refund the amount for a cancelled flight, causing significant inconvenience and financial distress.

I had booked a round-trip flight for two passengers from Lucknow to Bangalore and back (Booking Reference: HBB86KUQ), with departure on 9th May 2023 and return on 23rd May 2023. This booking was made through a third-party vendor, HappyFares, on 18th April 2023.

However, just a few days prior to the scheduled flight, HappyFares went bankrupt and consequently cancelled the flights. Despite this unfortunate event occurring over seven months ago, I have yet to receive any refund for the cancelled flights.

Upon contacting HappyFares, I was informed that the delay in refund is due to Goair withholding the money. It appears that Goair is intentionally holding onto the refund, possibly to accrue interest, while completely disregarding the financial burden and distress this has caused to customers like myself.

This prolonged delay and apparent negligence on the part of Goair and HappyFares are unacceptable and unprofessional. Both entities have failed to uphold their responsibilities and provide due customer service.

I kindly request the consumer forum to take immediate and stringent action against Goair and HappyFares. Their actions, or lack thereof, are causing undue hardship to their customers, and they must be held accountable. I demand a full refund of the amount paid, along with appropriate compensation for the undue stress and inconvenience caused by this prolonged delay.

I am eagerly awaiting your prompt intervention in this matter, as it has significantly affected my financial planning and caused considerable distress.

I trust that the Consumer Forum will address this issue with the seriousness it deserves and help resolve this matter at the earliest.
