Gomechanic — Extremely poor service and unresponsive customer support bonnet painting service (Booking date: 19th june)

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with GoMechanic. I booked a bonnet painting service through the GoMechanic app on 19th June for a listed price of ₹3, 299. After applying a coupon discount of ₹699, the final amount was ₹2, 699 (including safety and warranty fees), which I paid in full.

Shortly after the booking, I was contacted by the assigned service buddy, Mr. Sai Nikhil, who asked for pictures of the bonnet. Upon review, he claimed he couldn't see any issue and asked for clarification. I explained there were a couple of scratches and a slight shade difference on the lower portion, which is why I opted for a full bonnet repaint.

Shockingly, he quoted ₹3, 800 — ₹500 more than the app price — and dismissed the listed price outright, claiming that “GoMechanic prices are not followed” and I would have to pay extra regardless. When I requested a proper inspection before quoting, he refused and stuck to the inflated price without any valid reasoning.

I escalated the issue to the Customer Delight Team, and after several follow-ups, they finally agreed to honor the original quote of ₹2, 699. I accepted, and the vehicle was scheduled for pickup — but the pickup never happened.

On following up again, I was told that I now need to pay an additional ₹800 — citing that because I availed a ₹699 discount, I should now cover that amount plus ₹100 more. This logic is baffling, and no one, including the service buddy or support staff, could explain it coherently.

It’s now been over 11 days since I paid, and despite multiple follow-ups:

No service has been provided

No refund has been processed

No escalation team has responded to my email (not even an acknowledgement)

I keep being told, “An agent will contact you in 10 minutes, ” which has been repeated for the past 3 days with zero action

This experience reflects poor coordination, lack of accountability, and zero customer-centricity. I expected better from a platform that promotes convenience and transparency.

I urge GoMechanic to take immediate ownership of this issue and process a full refund without delay.
