US varsity ties up with Pune-based B-school

PUNE: The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS), one of the state universities in the US, has entered into a formal tie-up with the city-based Europe Asia Business School (EABS) and academic service provider Global Talent Track (GTT) for setting up a centre for services excellence that will offer advanced study programmes in the infotech (IT) and management fields.

The EABS, which has campuses in Pune and Mumbai, was founded by Ganesh Natarajan, CEO of Zensar Technologies and chairman of the CII's IT and ITeS committee. While the GTT, which specialises in training students on vocational skills that will help them get ready for the industry jobs, is headed by Uma Ganesh.

As part of the tripartite arrangement, the centre for services excellence will conduct research as well as offer multi-disciplinary academic programmes in India, starting with an advanced programme in information assurance leading to a masters in engineering from the UCCS and a certificate programme in services marketing.

According to Uma Ganesh, "This collaboration promises a much-needed global education experience for students, bringing together the best of the academia and the industry of the two nations."

Ganesh said, "The UCCS has some of the most relevant programmes in IT and Management and also an outstanding programme taught through blended learning for healthcare and nursing and through our new global connect initiative. These are the first of several planned courses that we look forward to customising and offering, via the centre, to cater to the huge needs in India and Asia."

The information assurance programme will be conducted at the EABS' campus at Vimannagar, while the services marketing programme will be conducted at the Advanced Technology Laboratory near Wadia college, said a GTT spokesperson on Monday. The two new academic programmes will be launched from the academic year 2011-12. The UCCS has provided the academic backup for these programmes in terms of designing the course and faculty training, among other things.

Both the courses have been designed specifically keeping in mind the factors like India's growing economy and the projected growth of sectors related to business, financial services and insurance (BFSI), healthcare and media. These sectors are expected to create over 40 lakh jobs within the next two years. On the other hand, information security and IT risk have emerged as key concerns with the growing IT penetration across the country. Successful participation of the advanced programme offered in India will lead to a masters degree in information assurance, which is offered by the UCCS. The services marketing programme will also enable students to get fee waivers for the fully accredited MBA offered by the UCCS at its campus in Colorado Springs.

Just go the website www.gttconnect.com and look at the people associated with the company. Do you think those names will associate themselves with any company which even has slightest of bad intention. Also, details of GTT and how it works with students are freely available in the Internet and even in this forum.

Hello All,

Whenever you join training you are supposed to complete it in order to get a job. You won't attend classes, pass the exams and you expect a job, that's absurd.

Anyway, here is my story.

I completed my Engineering but was finding it really hard to find a job for various reasons. Mainly because my communication skill was not that great and I was from a not so famous college.

Then one day GTT happened. They trained me in specific technologies that separated me from lot of other Engineers. Secondly, the trainers worked a lot on my communication skills. At the end I was fully prepared and completed my interview at the first shot.

Thanks GTT, because of you I am a successful professional today.

Global Talent Track (GTT) is funded by Intel-Capital and counts some prominent names among its Board members. Outlined below is the process by which we assist Cognizant to carry out its recruitment in some select cities:

Step 1: Pre-selection process by GTT
a. Written-test by GTT comprising of Aptitude & Verbal section
b. GD to check communication-skills
c. Final short-listing
(We do not charge anything from the students for this process)

Step 2: Registration on Cognizant web-site
The selected students register themselves on general Cognizant web-site. However, the difference is that if you register by yourself you may or may not be called for an interview by Cognizant but if you register after being shortlisted by us, you will be called by Cognizant for an interview.

Step 3: Interview process by Cognizant
This round is carried out entirely by Cognizant. We have no control over the outcome of this round.
Step 4: Successful candidates will receive a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Cognizant through their college Placement officers which details all the terms and conditions.

Students have the right to accept or refuse the offer. Students, who agree to enroll for the course, have to pay the required fee ( that is Rs, 43, 000 if paid upfront and 48, 000 if paid in installments) and undergo the training for 9 weeks.

It has 3 modules of 3 weeks each. At the end of each module Cognizant conducts an examination followed by a final examination.

Students who clear the final exam get the appointment letter from Cognizant. We are proud to say that we have had 100 % success rate in step 4!

UCCS ties up with EABS & GTT

In what is being seen as an interesting move, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) has tied up with Mumbai/Pune based Europe Asia Business School (EABS) and academic service provider Global talent Track (GTT). The objective is to set up centers for services which can offer study programs in IT and management. The first batch will be commenced in the academic year 2011. The chancellor o[censored]CCS said that this will enable to reach students at a global level and allow them to get exposed to the best of education in India.

Hi Friends,

GTT takes students only after a screening process. If they wanted to just make money why would they reduce numbers by screening students.

Only good ones go through the screening process and that's why there is a 100% placement record.

We all got jobs with decent packages after training with GTT. It's a great place to train and get your career shaped.

My name is Abhishek Anand.I have payed 10000 as my fees in Global Talent Track (Tilak Nagar) for the course of System Support Specialist.But instead of completing my course they closed the institutes in Tilak Nagar, New Delhi and opened a new institute at 3423, 1st floor, Near Mahindra Park, Rani Bagh with name Talent Plus institute which is still closed.Head of the institute Mr. Puneet Singh (Ph. no. [protected]) is out of sight and is not recieving my phone.Although they commited for placement, but still i asked them only to provide my certificates which they failed to provide me.The other officials of GTT are Mr. Pankaj Madaan(Ph. no. [protected]) and Divya Arora (Ph. No. [protected]).Now they have joined some other Institutes.

GTT has called me, taken the interview and said u have been selected but subject to job training. I got ready paid 10,000 but still I am unemployed.

The problem is that unlike other institute they pretend that the candidate has got the job and the training he/she need to go through is the company training. And later on they said that we are conducting interviews. If I need to do some training, I will do it from NIIT or Aptech or anywhere else why GTT?

Stong action should be taken aainst them.

GTT gives assurance to young freshers that they will be placed in MPHASIS, but it is found that they are placing Freshers in some other firm called as MAGNA Infotech ltd. Even GTT assures that freshers will get a package of around 1.80 Lacs p/a but they are not committed and a fresher gets a package of around 1.53 lacs p/a. and also not treated well by the company employees (MAGNA Infotech ltd).
IN This way they are playing with the CAREER of FRESHers.

Hi, My name is Yogesh. I have been told around 4 months back that I have got a job and I need to go through a training. Later on I realisized that they are giving me training of CCNA ONLY. They have transferred me to Tilak Nagar Centre for this purpose from Defence colony. Its completed but till date there is no job.

They dont have any jobs to conduct interviews even. They are having only call centres job. Their placement officer Renu asked us to work in call centre but why Btech candidate will go their. Infact the Call centre job is also not sure.

Infact they dont have any job to offer. Later on when I made a visit to Defence Colony I didn't find any office. Someone told that they have shifted to Noida but where, no one knows. Neither they have furnished any details in their website. Their Mobile phones are switched off and Land line nos are not working.

If anyone knows the address of Noida. Kindly let me know. GTT is a fraud company and should be baned..

I was invited by the company GTT to their center at Pune near Inox luring with jobs in Infosys , Satyam , EDS etc. To my surprise i was not the only one.It was crowded by at least 50 students like me.Later i was told that i have to spend 30 k for the training then i will get a job.But they refused to show any of the written Understanding or memorandum with the aforesaid companies.
Similar tactics for advertisement they have done with various colleges and Universities time to time fooling the unemployed youths for jobs and internship melas.
I have come to know that their few unsuccessful programmes in some colleges at FC etc by few of my friends where the programme was not started even after taking money from the students till date.
Government should have some measures to protect interest of the students and unemployed youth from getting exploited.
