[Resolved]  Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation [GSRTC] — Complaint against bus Conductor for not stopping at designated bus stop, dropping passenger at an unsafe location.

Dear sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and concern about the behaviour of the bus conductor and driver of GSRTC Express bus, traveling from Tharad (vav) to Ahmedabad on dated 08/12/2024 at around 18:45 hrs. I boarded the above –mentioned bus From Mehasana. When reached nandasan, I requested the conductor to stop the bus at the designated nandasan bus stop. However, conductor refused to stop the bus, citing that there were many passengers waiting at the next stop and that stopping at nandasan would cause the bus to become overcrowded.
The conductor’s exact words were “so many passengers are standing and waiting for the bus. If I stop the bus at nandasan, it will become full of passengers. I will drop you near the Nandasan Bridge.”
I was shocked and disappointed by the conductor’s response. As a passenger, I expect the bus conductor to follow the designated route and stop scheduled bus stops. Dropping me 1km far from nandasan bus stop was not inconvenient but also posed a significant risk to my safety, especially during evening hours.
Furthermore, I was carrying a significant amount of cash (Rs. 20, 000) with me, and the conductor’s negligence put me at risk of theft or robbery. I hold the bus conductor and driver responsible for any potential harm or loss that I may have suffered.
I want to bring to your attention that this is not an isolated incident. Many conductors operating on this route have been consistently bypassing the nandasan bus stop and taking bypass via Nandasan Bridge. This has been a recurring problem, and I have experienced it earlier as well.
I request you to take immediate action against the bus conductor and driver for their negligence and lack of concern for passenger safety. I also demand that you take steps to ensure that all buses operating on this route stop at the designated Nandasan bus stop and do not take the bypass.
If I do not receive a satisfactory response from your department, I will be forced to take legal action against GSRTC for negligence and breach of duty.
