During the COVID-19 pandemic, my grandfather contracted COVID-19 and my family was facing a serious medical emergency. Because of this emergency, I was unable to attend the office physically.
I wish to clearly state that I did not abscond from employment. My manager incorrectly marked me as “absconding” despite being aware that I was unable to report to the office due to the COVID-19 medical emergency. This status was not due to any intentional abandonment of employment by me.
I have already visited the HDB office personally to request my relieving letter/experience letter. However, the office staff refused to provide the letter because I was marked as absconding. I have also sent emails requesting correction and issuance of the letter, but I have not received any response.
I also raised a grievance with EPFO to correct/remove the employment record linked to my UAN, but the grievance was closed without resolution. The incorrect absconding status and non-issuance of my relieving letter are now affecting my future job opportunities and background verification.
1. Investigate and correct the incorrect absconding status entered by my manager.
2. Issue my relieving or experience letter for my employment period from 15 January 2020 to 3 June 2020.
