HDB Financial Services — Loan recovery harassment for LAN: 6785029

Hello Team HDBFS/ HDFC,

I hope everyone is doing well.
I am Rachana Shinde daughter of Late Pandurang Shinde (Given account number at the end)
I wanted to bring to your urgent notice that since past couple of weeks one of your employees sometimes she says she is Amruta Pawar and sometimes the same person says she is Sonali Kadam have been calling my mother who is a senior citizen (~aged 62 years), my brother and my sister consistently and harassing us for a personal loan taken by father back in 2019, unfortunately he passed away in 2021. We were not aware about this loan until Amruta/ Sonali called us
To verify we asked her to share basic documents like Application letter, Sanction letter, disbursement letter, loan account statement, Guarantors details etc. She is not ready to share the details and is daily harassing my mother over
a call every second minute. She has been personally targeting and harassing her.
We were all willing to settle this amount, but her rude and unconstitutional behavior has left us no choice but to highlight the management of HDBFS with this unprofessional attitude.
We also asked her what her employee ID is, is there any email id of her’s that we can reach out to, but she always avoids all this and asks why we require this and never provided any details
She has been non-stop calling my mother and talking trash like “When you can’t afford why do people like you take loans” wherein my mother is completely unaware of all this.
Based on the rules we are not even liable to pay the amount if the person is dead. He also had some insurance policy to cover the loan regarding which Amruta/ Sonali mentioned but did not share the details. She mentioned that the policy expired in Mar’22 but the borrower passed away in 2021, this means the loan was insured.
Even after we have mentioned again and again to share the documents the person did not share the details, even after requesting not to call my mother who is aged with multiple medical complications, and she is constantly calling her every minute. It has been ~1.5 yrs. that we lost our father and in addition to that this trauma just adds up
If tomorrow due to all this anything happens to my mother, I will hold HDBFS bank responsible.
Legally I am not obliged to pay any personal loan since none of the family members are co-borrowers or guarantors, but I still wanted to close this in terms of goodwill. Now that your representative has harassed me and my family emotionally, I would want to file a case for harassment and highlight this to the Central Government Public Grievance portal. Before this I wanted to make sure that this email reaches you formally since I am not even sure the person calling is a HDBFS official employee or a third-party contract employee.
There has been no formal notice that has been issued to the official address as well for the family to know about the loan. The person has initially reached out to relatives and neighbors to find out the family contacts which is not right.
The person who is calling is not even aware about the death date and is constantly asking to pay the money in cash which is also incorrect.
To the broader team here, can the Lender ask the legal heirs to pay up the balance outstanding of the personal loan?
Even if they are NOT the co-borrowers or guarantors??
To conclude all that I asked for was a copy of below documents:
Loan Application letter
Sanction letter
Disbursement letter
Loan account statement
Insurance policy details
Lastly it would be great if an employee from HDBFS (No 3rd party) can reach out to me on +91 [protected] for a healthy discussion, I am the borrowers daughter Rachana Shinde. The loan account number that the Harasser mentioned was 6785029
Could you also confirm if Amruta Pawar/ Sonali Kadam with phone number +91 [protected] is your official HDBFS employee? Since whenever we hear from her, she doesn’t sound like an employee of HDBFS.
Would be helpful if a sound, professional and a senior executive can have a conversation with me.
Me and my husband have been banking with HDFC now almost for a decade with his salary account in the bank and my home loan account in HDFC limited, but never ever we have faced anything like this, it is very unprofessional for mere Rs. 30, 000 I never thought the company would harass that too when we are ready to pay but only after proper formal documentations I will also raise a request on twitter so that this is highlighted the upper management, RBI and nearby police authorities.
I would request you to kindly take this case seriously, and I will not be responsible for any formal legal proceedings
