Dear HDFC ERGO Team,

It is very disappointing to experience such an unprofessional response from a reputed organisation like HDFC.

I am having my health insurance and car insurance policies with HDFC ergo also we share our company’s current account and salary account banking relation with HDFC Bank . Below are the cases and reasons for my dissatisfaction.

1) Health insurance - My health insurance policy no[protected] is with HDFC ergo from past few years and it is renewed every year. I was very surprised, when I came to know few days back that my policy for the current year has not been renewed despite of the fact that payment of Rs 24306 against renewal was debited from my HDFC saving account on 21.06.21 and got CREDited in your account. This transaction has been verified from the bank, transaction details for your reference HDFC ERGO HEALTH- HI[protected] dated 21st June 2021 Rs 24306. Until 24th June 2022 you were unable to renew my health insurance policy. CONTACT CUSTOMER care politely refused to entertain upon CONTACTing for hospitalization cash less facility for the insured CUSTOMER- Shani Fatema’s elbow injury, CUSTOMER care team informed us, your insurance policy status is in expired condition .Such an unethical approach is absolutely not acceptable. I expect a proper justification from your side on this and a refund of 100% amount immediately along with inconvenience / intentional negligence compensation of Rs 15 Lacs ( sum insured value) and indirect financial loss due to mental harassment.

2) Car insurance - Unfortunately, my zero depreciation car insurance since last couple of years is again with HDFC ERGO (policy number:[protected], but fortunately insurance is in active state. I have raised a claim ( Claim reference number -C[protected] against the under body damages happened few days back due to a road mishap. All possible explanation is already submitted in your form along with car service history and necessary documents. But, this time again you have displayed a very rude behaviour by rejecting the claim without any convincing reason. My car is in Pune based Volkswagen company authorized workshop from past one week and I am suffering because of your poor standards of work. I request you again to look into the matter closely and support.

Your company executives are following up with me to buy a term plan. How can I continue my association with your organisation with such an experience.

I hope a company of your stature will respond quickly without making it further complicated.

Good Morning..!!!

I hope you must have gone through my previous emails with reason of disappointment ### to my health insurance policy & motor policy.
I[censored]nresolved within 3 days, shall report such kind o[censored]nethical business practice to IRDA with all valid proofs and necessary documents and file a legal case against HDFC ergo.

1. HEALTH INSURANCE : Apology is not at all acceptable to me. and for your information the matter was brought into HDFC team's notice 375 days ago and during the medical emergency HDFC Ergo CUSTOMER care and team at various level had refused to support ( which is the insured person's right as a policy holder) by stating your policy has expired and HDFC ergo is not liable to entertain any cashless hospitalization . Unprofessional and rude approach has caused mental stress, harrasemment, direct financial loss and indirect financial loss .

Case 1 : If I do not make the payment to renew my policy and after 375 days any medical emergency arises, in this case will you give the claim and cashless facility if I say Sorry / Apologies I couldn't pay my premium for last year and this year please consider my deep regret and provide me cashless facility . Will you provide me the cashless facilities??

Case 2:wherein I had made the premium payment in advance and HDFC ergo intentionally and unethically refused to support the hospitalization cashless facility. How can I accept your apology?? Not acceptable

2. MOTOR INSURANCE : Thankyou again for displaying rude denial mode. I am really not satisfied with your justification for the claim rejection.

Again, I am requesting you to get the issue resolved in an ethical way.

1. We have noted your feedback and deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you in this regard. As the matter was brought to our notice, the same was carefully reviewed internally and the health policy was renewed with due continuity to avoid having any negative impact on the earned policy benefits.

2. We have re-verified the claim request registered vide claim reference ID:C[protected] and taking due cognizance of the information available, please be apprised that the actual damages do not commensurate with the cause of loss and hence, the claim is not admissible. We therefore stand by our decision for repudiation of the claim as communicated earlier as is. The detailed copy of the claim closure letter is enclosed as part of this email for your reference.

HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited I have shared your today’s revert . Wherein hdfc ergo has mentioned that
whatever you have done related to my health policy and non-issuance of policy even after 365 days of making the payment is ok to you for not allowing the insured person for the health insurance cashless facility by simply stating your policy has expired almost a year ago ???????

What rubbish ?

I have read all your policy terms and condition no where it’s mentioned that even after making the renewal payment health insurance policy holder will be disallowed to avail cashless facility .

Is it part of your policy hidden terms and condition to not renew the health insurance policy ?

After several reminders at various level ( manager to ceo ) from my side to give the proper justification I haven’t got any positive response.
Just imagine, I took the insurance on good faith and during covid peak period if any medical emergency would have happened to insured person, had to go through all these nonsense . Is it practically possible for a common insured citizen to fight with general insurance goons during the need of medical emergency if they refuse to give support by fraudulent activity..simply saying your policy is not valid .

Strict action must be taken against HDFC ergo so that no other policy holder suffers due to their unethical business practices.

HDFC must compensate me for the mental stress, harassment, direct and indirect financial losses .

Don't take the any policy from HDFC ERGO.

They give wrong information while issuing the policy.

Company is hungry for money.

Go for other company in market which cheaper than This Froud company.

They call serval times while issuing the policy but there is no help while claim process.

Their cope is also very poor.
