Hero Motocorp — Chronic problem of speedometer ,maestro

I owned a maestro in aug 2015 from angamaly cochin. My maestro has done only 1200 km since i have other vehicles in my home. Recently i found speedometer not registering any speed, km and etc. When i approached service centre in angamaly i was "startled" to hear from other customers they have brought their vehicle for the same cause.
Now i would like to hear from you that is it a chronic problem, or you have come out with such a wonderful two wheeler with an inferior quality of speedometer cable so that customer is put in inconvenience regularly and approach you for regular service.
