Being a fan of hidesign as a brand and its product over the last few years, i have always recommended them to my colleagues and friend thus far. But my recent experience with them has shattered my trust on them. Needless to say i became the member of their loyalty program on 5th november 2012 when i was told i will be entitled to get loyalty bonus and a 30% discount on their product if i buy a product on my birthday.
So of course on my birthday last year on 14th jan 2013 i purchased a bag from their ambience mall showroom and availed a 30% birthday discount on the purchase. According to the loyalty program rule conveyed to me this transaction had also extended my membership with them for another year i. E till 31st jan 2014.
Well, i wanted to pick a handbag for my mom and since my birthday was just a week away, i thought it would be wiser to use hidesign birthday benefit to get a 30% discount. So, on my birthday, i ended up in the showroom at select city walk and spent 15 to 20 minutes in selecting 3 bags to buy. As i was entitled to get the 30% birthday discount i gave them my card and to shock me to hell they said the card had expired on 30th nov 2013 as the card does not reflect the purchase i did on 14th jan 2013.
In an attempt to resolve the issue the store in charge asked me to wait for a few minutes and those minutes converted into 1 hr 30 minutes. And in the end they came back stating there was a technical error somewhere internally but they cant give me the discount and cannot help at all. This is absolutely ridiculous that after wasting valuable time on my birthday they didn't even consider an alternate way to make the discount possible. It isn't about a discount of some money, i would obviously not save a fortune by getting a 30% discount on one handbag neither it is about your internal technical glitches but its about your helpless retail managers who don't care of the customer's sentiments attached to the brand or the customer's loyalty. I was with my friends and family in the store and of course this whole episode spoiled my birthday evening. I can say that either your employees don't care about your customer loyalty program, or you don't give emphasis to customer loyalty. The loyalty program are to retain the customers and it should not be a reason for the customers to leave the brand.
Very annoyed and dissatisfied.
