[Resolved] Homeshop18 — personal information breach

I have placed an order for blankets through phone on 26th november 2017 and have opted for the cod scheme. The very next day on 27th of november i have received a call from an executive who claimed he was calling from homeshop 18 and he has confirmed all the order details, mobile number and house address. The executive then has informed that my order number with mobile number has won grand prize of 12, 50, 000 rs which i can claim as a tata safari or cash. The executive has reconfirmed all the details regarding my address and contact number. He has insisted upon depositing 8000rs for the funds to be cleared. We have dialed the homeshop 18 team and they have confirmed that it is a possible trap and requested us to not to deposit any amount. However they are not willing to answer our question on how our personal details and address have been breached by the scammers. Was this information helpful? No (0) Yes (0)

Homeshop18 never asks customers to deposit money into any personal or individual account and if TDS has to be paid it only needs to be paid into Company’s official account through DD or Cheque in favour of "TV18 Home Shopping Network Ltd.”.If you continue to receive fraud emails and letters or calls, you may lodge an FIR either with the Police or Cyber cell.
