Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my Honda SP 125 bike (Vehicle No: TN12BJ9387), which I purchased from SVM Honda Showroom, Avadi, on February 26, 2025.
From the beginning, I have been facing a serious recurring issue — the bike frequently cut off while riding. I initially reported this to your Ayapakkam service center, where they told it was a normal issue. Despite repeated services, the problem persists.
While riding, the bike blocks during acceleration and suddenly switches off every 1 to 3 km, taking up to 5 minutes to restart. This has made commuting extremely difficult, especially as I travel over 110 km daily.
On May 28, I again left the vehicle at the SVM Honda Ayapakkam service center for a detailed check-up. After keeping the bike for several days, they returned it stating “no issue found” and asked me to send a photo or video of the problem, despite my already having shared one. This response was dismissive and unsatisfactory.
Further, on July 7, I submitted the bike again to the SVM Honda Avadi service center due to the same issue — LED blinking, acceleration blocking, and engine cut-off while running. They kept the bike for 3 full days and returned it claiming the issue was resolved and that you wouldn’t face it again.
Before submitting the vehicle to the Avadi service center, I first went to the Ayapakkam service center and requested them to solve the issue. However, the Ayapakkam service supervisor refused to accept the vehicle, stating that I should instead give it to the Avadi service center. This is a completely unacceptable way to respond to a customer. If the Ayapakkam service center is not willing to provide service, then why is it even operating as a service center under your brand? Such speaking shows a total lack of professionalism and customer care of Honda 2wheelers. Later only I went to SVM HONDA Avadi Service center.
However, on July 12, while riding, the same blocking and sudden engine cut-off occurred. This time, it led to a road accident when a car hit me from behind due to the sudden stop in the middle of the road. Fortunately, I survived with minor injuries, but this incident clearly shows how life-threatening this unresolved issue is.
This is no longer just a mechanical problem — it is a major safety concern. I am extremely disappointed with the repeated negligence and poor service response. I demand immediate action to address this issue properly.
I request one of the following resolutions without any further delay:
1. Replace the vehicle with a new one,
(OR)
2. Perform a complete and verified fix to permanently resolve the blocking and cut-off issue,
(OR)
3. Provide a full refund for the purchase of the faulty vehicle.
If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution within the next 7 days, I will be compelled to escalate this matter to consumer complaint forums, and also consider legal action for negligence, unsafe product delivery, and endangerment to life.
