Housing.com — Real estate fraud - Not refunding the security deposit I sent him

Address:Bangalore, Bangalore, Karnataka
Website:y6dkc.app.goo.gl/CpbU

Date of incident : 11 Jan 2023
Fraud number : [protected]
Name : Amit Kumar

This is an owner listed in housing.com where I responded to his ad via WhatsApp asking about a property of his. He responded and shared some more photos and videos about the property and we got on a call to confirm about the house. He asked for a token amount before visiting the property so that he book it for me. At first, he did not say an amount so I asked him if 1500 is okay. He said 2k and I sent to one of the UPI ID he shared with me. Which is. "[protected]@rbl" he claims this is his account and then he called me and said he need 5k at least as per the company's request. So I sent 3k more in that account. Post that he sends me a photo of rental agreement paper with my name and his name and the house number along with booking id written. But, in that paper it was written to pay 50k (which is the security deposit mentioned for the house in the app) and wrote it is fully refundable if you don't like the property. Since I did not have 50k, he insisted to pay 50% of it and he will pay the rest of the money to the company and get the agreement papers and stamp paper ready. These all conversations are over a call and via WhatsApp.

He told me to pay 20k to the company account that is shown as Yashwant Tranders, and the UPI ID is "yash9914.[protected]@cmsidfc". He also mentioned it might not go at a go, so send smaller amounts and complete the 20k. I paid 2k to this account first and later the rest of the money was not going. So I send the remaining 18k to the previous account as advised by him and he told me to wait until next day for him to share the rental agreement and other details. Meanwhile I went and checked the location stated in the app and it was a wrong address. It was different Pooja Apartment and I called this person to ask exact location. He was not letting me go visit saying multiple reasons as the boy is not available now, the office is closed, he is out of station etc etc. We had verbally agreed upon visiting the property on Sunday (i.e 14th Jan) after him paying half of the deposit and me paying half since it has to be over 50k to book the apartment. The next day he gave me more reasons of his bank not working and he is unable to pay the rest of 25k and insisted me to pay that amount. All that without seeing the apartment.

He is not ready to show me the apartment before sending him 50k and post that I complained in housing.com via email and they blacklisted his account because it was found fraudulent. This fraudster took that as a reason and is reluctant to refund my 25k even after letting him know that I do not want this apartment. He is again insisting to pay more and see the apartment but reluctant in refunding the amount. I have lost 25k on this and he said he cannot help it. After multiple calls with him he said he will refund it on 25th Jan and gave me a refund id ([protected]@)

I am attaching all the payment proofs below and WhatsApp chats

Please not that, after my complaints with housing.com, they have blacklisted his profile and I cannot see his name anywhere else in the app now. But I have screenshots.
