A friend of mine, Kemya Yanlem from Nagaland stayed in a Housr rental accommodation in Gurgaon while she was looking for Jobs. They asked for a security deposit of Rs. 30, 000/-. For the first 2 months after leaving they kept saying over call that they will return the money soon and then they stopped picking calls.
The only reason I am making the effort is because she gave up because of the stress and harassment.
It has been 7 months she has left the accommodation, but they did not return the security deposit. On investigation, we came to know that their facebook page is packed with only complaints of the same issue (literally no other comments).
We hired a lawyer and sent them a legal notice, which they ignored. The only remaining option was to file a case which requires us to pay Rs. 45, 000/- as legal fees.
We also sent a mail on linked in to their CEO and Co-Founder Deepak Anand. on October 18. He hasn't responded and will most probably never respond.
This is a national level scam affecting hundreds if not thousands of people and they are doing it on a regular basis without any fear.
I am attaching all documents:
1. Receipt of Payment of security Deposit
2. Messages from Houser mentioning the security deposit amount
3. Legal Notice Sent to Housr
4. Snapshot of their Facebook page where you will find other testimonies
5. Snapshot of mail to Deepak Anand
There were two people from housr communicating with us. Sharing both numbers:
1. Akash Bhardwaj. phone:[protected] email: bhardwaj.[protected]@gmail.com
2. Jigyasa Pandit. phone:[protected]
