[Resolved]  Ibibo Group / Goibibo — cancel hotel booking at the time of check-in

I booked hotel Ganga at Shimla on 4th Jun around 10:30 pm (Booking ID: HTLUNECGYE) for 3 days from 5th to 8th Jun through Goibibo. I traveled to Shimla from Delhi on 5th Jun in my own car with my family and reached the hotel around 06:30 pm. Hotel staff denied checking in the hotel because they didn't receive the booking confirmation from Goibibo. I called in the Goibibo customer care and asked them to solve it but after 15 min they called me and said that they are unable to resolve my query and will refund the entire booking amount in 14 working days. I was really surprised by their behavior, how could they do this to a customer who already paid the entire amount in advance and they already confirmed the booking by sending a booking voucher to me.

This was ridiculous I traveled in the car for more than 10 hrs feeling very tired and sitting in the lobby with my family. After that, I left my family in the lobby to find out the rooms in another hotel and it was very difficult to find the room due to the season time.

After discussing with the hotel staff I got to know that these are the usual cases with Goibibo. Every day 1-2 customer faces the same problem.

I think some strict action has to be taken against Goibibo, so in the future, another customer couldn't face the same problem.

We agree with your point and completely understand the anxiety experienced, however, we were not informed about the booking denial initially by the hotelier on time, we could not help you proactively.

Further, refund of INR 13948 processed on the same account/credit card/ mode of payment with which you confirmed the booking.
It must reflect in the respective account within 5-14 working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays), from the date of refund success.

We assure you that we never wish that any of our guests face inconvenience. We request you to view the above incident as circumstantial and unintentional.
