I had booked onward and return flight tickets (PNR MRK9PX)from Pune to Chennai for my daughter, through Goibibo.com online portal on 9th Dec 2021. Travel date was 8th Jan 2022 from Pune to Chennai and return was on 16th Jan 2022. The online portal clearly advertises, that 100% refund would be provided if the traveler is tested COVID positive upto 12 hours prior to travel. Based on RT-PCR tests done on 6th Jan 2022 and report received on 7th Jan 2022, my daughter tested COVID positive. As shown in Goibibo, I selected the relevant option for refund due to COVID and uploaded the RT-PCR test certificate on 7th Jan 2022 itself and much before the 12 hour cutoff. Since there was no onward journey, I had to cancel the return journey as well.
Based on my refund request, I get the following message from Goibibo on 9th Jan 2022.
"Dear Drishya,
For your refund request on your flight booking ID: GOFLDMT015E[protected] and PNR: MRK9PX, we wish to inform you that "You have chosen to close the claim request".
Hence, the refund is not applicable as per the airline.
Team Goibibo"
Though the above message was sent, I get a 2nd message that an amount of Rs.106 has been refunded to my GoIbibo wallet. There are no phone numbers or emails provided on Goibibo site to raise a complaint or to talk to someone. This is absolute cheating and online fraud. Secondly an amount is deducted as tax while booking the tickets, when the person has not even travelled, why charge him tax. This tax amount itself is close to Rs.700 per trip.
Sincerely requesting your support in resolving this case and ensure that the full booking amounts are refunded as advertised on your portal and also ensure that relevant contact details are updated online for customers to reach Goibibo team in case of concerns. Was this information helpful? |
