[Resolved]  IIFL — Hdfc life sap policy no. s 15154244, 15288070 and 15292141 sold by iifl by fradulant means

Address:422008

The copy of the e mail sent to hdfc life in which iifl had sold sap policies by fradulant means is reproduced below:

I have received your reply which is a standard reply that i have already received from you earlier on many occasions but, as usual, the reply does not say anything or explain anything on the fraudulent sale of these policies by your agent india infoline kolkata. I have already spent lot of time in trying to explain you the circumstances under which we were forced to keep the policies with us for one year (So that we should not return them within the stipulated period of 15 days of receipt of the policies) by giving false promises and confidently telling us that we are hdfc people only. Let me now again give you the history of the development and how your agents smartly fooled us and obviously you have not taken any action against them neither you have agreed that this was a fraudulent sale of the policies by the agents.
1. Firstly, let me explain why i could not return the policies within 15days of the receipt of the policies. The agents who had approached us had informed that hdfc had made a huge profit and is offering premium customers of the bank (I had opened account in hdfc bank few months back at kolkata) the hdfc policies which would fetch us interest of at least 12 percent in a year and we need not invest for more than one year. After one year principle amount with interest would be returned back to us. The agent had explained us that we would get a verification call from bank, wherein bank would explain the terms of the policy. Agent had told us to reply to bank saying that we know the terms and agent has explained us these terms. Agent had informed that these call from bank are only tax saving to the bank and these calls are only a formalities. Agent had promised us that bank would also be distributing gifts like gold coins or trip to foreign country. And we had received a gift of ganesh idol made of gold foil (Which was not more than rs 1500 worth)
2. The agent had informed us that we would get a call from the hdfc life after six months of the beginning of the policy asking us if we want to retain the policy or want to surrender the policy after one year of the policy term. After lapse of six month of the policy we did not get any call from hdfc life asking for our option. At this point we tried to contact all the people involved in selling the policy. No one was responding to our phone. We came to know, then, that all the people who had contacted us were from india infoline and not the hdfc life employees. Hence we visited india infoline office. Mr. Debashish roy who informed us that he was manager at that office and he had taken down our complaint. However, he also explained us, and showed some documents, that hdfc bank has made huge profit and hdfc being very reputed company, would not cheat the customers. There were not less than 200 employees at that office (Located at ac market, shakespeare sarani road, kolkata) and hence we did not doubt him. He had in fact informed that if we buy another policy of rs. 3.00 lacs we would be getting a samsung make tablet. However we did not buy another policy as we had already blocked rs. 7.0 lac.in three sap policies.
3. When we have not received any call from hdfc life asking for our option even after nine months, we tried to contact mr. Debashish roy and all others involved in the sale of the policy. However they did not respond to our calls, or said they would talk later on but never responded later. At this time we visited the office of india infoline, second time and contacted their manager. At the beginning they were hesitant to listen to us but on our insistence they came out that the people we mentioned were working for them but were removed by india infoline some time back.in fact, they informed that the names of those people were also fake. When we insisted to take our complaint in writing he had agreed lastly. The copy of our written complaint is attached. Thus manager, mr avijit das at india infoline, had agreed that the sale of the policies was by these fraudulent people and by fraudulent means. For your information these facts have already been brought to your notice vide my mail dated 12th feb. 2016 to you along with photograph of the person, named “so called debashish roy”. I have also sent a mail complaint to mr. Avijit das, of india infoline, kolkata on 14th dec. 2013. The copy of the mail is attached
4. The personal information filled up by these fraud people in the policy documents is also not correct and from the policy documents it is seen that different information is given in three different sap policies. This fact also has been brought your knowledge by me while raising my complaints.
5. You had been also mentioning that the case has been closed by insurance ombudsman, kolkata. We had also explained to you that we had shifted from kolkata to nashik in april 2014 as my husband had retired from the service at kolkata. We had written a mail to kolkata insurance ombudsman about our change in address. But unfortunately, probably, they did not receive our mail and had given decision before hearing from us. This fact also has been brought to your notice by me.
6. Fed up by your continued rejections and same standard reply, i had also given hdfc life the option that the three policies could be converted to one policy with reduced pension and my money paid up for next three or four years so that i could continue to make the small premium amount in future or convert the policy to one time premium paid policy so that i would get the amount with benefits on the maturity term.
7. On 27th may 2016 i had received a phone call from india infoline mumbai office (Phone no. [protected]) regarding these policies. The lady had informed that she is speaking from india infoline on behalf of hdfc life and that they have received our complaint and suggestion and she suggested that she could talk to hdfc life to see if this amount could be put in a policy which has one time premium and shall have maturity period of five years. She informed that she needs our consent for this from our side. We had given her our consent. She informed that after consulting hdfc life they would inform me the further course of action. However i have not heard anything from either hdfc life or india infoline mumbai office. The communication from india infoline clearly indicates that they had, at least, in principle, agreed that their agents had sold the policies by fraudulent means to me.
8. I had already explained to your people who have been reminding me for the renewal payment of the policies, that i am unable to make payment of rs. 7.0 lakh every year as i am a housewife without any earning and my husband has also retired in 2014.in fact we have been now lining with megre amount of pension. I have already lost huge sum of interest toward blocking my money since 2012 in your sap policies and you are telling me that i would not get any amount if i do not pay the premium. However, very smartly, you have never mentioned in any of your correspondence that my allegation about the fraudulent agents of your prime wing, india infoline is wrong. Only answer i keep getting is that i have agreed to the policy terms and i did not return the policies within the stipulated period. You have neither answered anything about the fraudulent agents nor given me any proof of your investigation on the fraudulent agent. What does it mean? It is our hard earned money and for the sake of trust and honoring safety of customer’s investment you must find out a solution to the trouble which i have faced and that too by your fraudulent agents.

You are requested to find out the truth and inform hdfc life accordingly.
