Dear Mr. Sawhney,

Your staff attending to phone calls from customers seems to think that we are begging you for offers. I called up at 1115 am on 1st Nov & spoke to a lady. The way she spoke to me, i started feeling that I have called up India Today & begged them to give me this supposed "Customer of Distinction" letter. Do you people think I have nothing better to do.

I suggest, the Rs 7000/- you are giving off by way of air tickets, you should use it for PR courses for your staff so that they at least know how to speak to customers.

Looking at the nice & pleasant mails written to you by people, I am sure all will agree with me. Please do not send me anymore of these fraud offer letters. Take this mail as a notice for Do Not Disturb & do not send me such offer letters if you don't wish to find yourself in the Consumer Court.

Oh my God. I was just browsing the portal and saw the complaints regarding India Today Book Club. To my astonishment it was same with me. I have lodged umpteenth complaints [regarding not getting the promised gifts of books against my subscription Id no ITE1785027] through email but all in vain for almost 8/9 months of my subscription. At last I wrote a letter to Mr Arun Purie, Managing Edit, India Today that on the pretext, i feel like being dupes by the magazine and that I am trashing INDIA TODAY from my readings. Then only within a fortnight i got promised books [that too old and not of my choice] ... which I sold later to the 'raddiwala'.
And I really meant that i am trashing INDIA TODAY from my readings, that I have not renewed my subscription nor I would purchase it from the book stall any more in my life.
They think they are mighty print media and consider themselves invincible in Indian democracy. I hate 'India Today' of their arrogant and fraudulent attitude towards their subscribers.

I have been having a tough time dealing with India Today group ! I subscribed for Mens Health in Nov 08. Initially, they did not acknowlede the receipt of my payments for a month, even though the payment for made using my credit card. Later when that issue got resolved, I was told that I will start receiving copies from Jan'09.

When I did not receive my copy till jan 12th, I raised an alarm and their customer care replied that its in transit. So i wainted for a week more, but no copy was delivered. Hence I contacted them again and now they say they cannot do anything and I have to go thru www.wecare24x7.in !! I have no problems following the procedure, but the problem is that they are so lethargic in their replies that it kills ! For instance, I requested wecare24x7 to create my online account so that I can file my missing copy request, but they have not created it till now, even after 5 days !

I did the biggest mistake by subscribing to them. I think it would have been much better to pick up the copies from newstand !

Below are the replies I got ! I must have exchanged almost 20 emails with them, and all turned futile ! Pathetic service ! Should I do a chargeback and finish off the matter or will the senior authorities take some action ?

India Today — poor response for promised gifts along with 1-year subscription

dear sirs,
this is regarding INDIA TODAY's 1-year subscription where they promise offers of a travel kit and encyclopedia CDs as gifts. but after making a purchase they have very poor response to their customers in delivering the gifts. even that they don't communicate with when there is a shortage of stock, unless enquired.it is almost 5 months from the time of purchase but gifts are not yet received. they promise only 8/10 weeks for delivery of the gifts. kindly go through the e-mails from both sides and please see how they cheat on their customers telling this and that. i am exahusted sending them mails and now repent for purchashing this magazine on a false promise.

No response despite my lodging the complaint and reminding them on regular basis over phone/mail.

My order was put in Jan'09 and today is May'09 just 5 months.

India Today Book Club — Poor service

I have buyed a benetton watch from india today book club,i returned the watch due to defect on the very first day,I have already paid Rs.499 at the time of first delievery,but I have not received the returned watch yet.So i request you to send me a replaced benetton watch as soon as possible.

I had bought many books and CDs from India Today Book Club. I like the fact that their customer care is very helpful. For any kind of information one can usually dial their customer care number at[protected] or by sending an email at [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com.
these are bloody liars and cheaters. they need to open offices in various district consumer forums
they are hardened scamsters and all the daily news papers carry their half page /full page ads so they don't want to loose that business and will never write anything bad about them!!! So you DUMB customers of INDIA TODAY /BAGITTODAY /TIME are doomed ..!!!

    I bought books paying rs699 thro' VPP.Indiatiodaybookclub has offered me a return air ticket and a free adidas bag & instructed me to follow five steps.but they have not given me A UNIQUE NUMBER TO CLAIM SPECIAL OFFER.So my request & submission of ITBC NO etc are not accepted.so please do the needful if iam entitled to claim free gifts.

    Firstly I had not placed any other and these people have forcefully delivered a pack of 4 books their bestsellers offer under which if I accept this offer I would get a free Reebok watch.

    I was shocked to find that there were only 4 books in the pack. It was asked from me to enter a unique code printed in on my invoice. I have gone through the invoice more than ten times and have tried each and every number possible but it is only saying "You have made incorrect entries. Kindly check and enter once again !!!"

    Costumer care is not is responding. Please kindly take the required action to get this matter solved.

      i have received three cd's on britannica concise 2007 cd rom, encyclopedia of britannica-guide to shakespear, and quiz master today the 20th oct, 2008. iI have also paid the amount foe the 3 cd's Rs. 603.00 ( 574 + other charges ). On opening the package, an instruction was enclosed - instructing to log at http;//offers.indiatodaybookclub.com/greatoffers.htm, then to type the unique no, to type itbc membership no, invoice no to receive the free gift. But on logging to the above web site, such space or form to fill up all the instructions could not be found.kindly advice in this connection.

      The e-mail came to me offering the 'Swatch Watch 1541 Chronograph' for Rs.2999.43 + 200.00 handling charges. Additional gift worth Rs. 2500.00 was also offered. I placed order for ONE watch and charged it on my credit card. They executed the order three times and charged me three times even when the card authorization was made only once. Several mails have been sent and phone calls have been made but no solution has been found. In the mean while, I am s5tuck with three watches and have paid three times for it. If reputed companies like Living Media India Limited treats the clients with this kind of approach - how can anyone trust other less reputed companies??

In the invoice given by them they have advised to redeem the Gift voucher through their website www.bookstoday.in/prmos.htm. Surprised to know that the said website is not at all exisiting. Companies like India Today does these kind of cheap tactise to do the marketing for their unsold products, then with whom we have to believe.

They have mentioned in the invoice to claim the special offer I have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm but the address is not valid. This is cheating on the part of the company. Can this be redressed soon? Otherwise I shall compelled to take appropriate legal action against the company.

This booking had an offer of providing reebok shoes worth Rs 2599.00 free of cost + 2nights and 3 drays gift voucher of staying in any hotel as per there list.This stay offer had a hidden price Rs 800.00 which had to be paid in advance to activate the voucher and which was not told at the time of booking the order.

      I also purchased CDs, and they promised holiday package. Travel agent asked me to send DD of Rs. 850/- drawn on Indian Bank, Delhi.

I have ordered against an offer they are giving, purchased some items but after completing 60 days of purchasing I have not received any free gifts yet from there end till date. I have called several times on there customer care service, mailed them but still I haven't got any better result yet.             I had received a phone call regarding my selection to sweepstake. I requested for the details on my email. I sent a email seeking the mode of payment and confirmation of the following items which were told by the cutomer care dept., 1) 7 DVDs 2) Air ticket voucher. 3)Holiday voucher. 4)Reebok shoe 5)Beneton watch. While the matter was in correspondece I got an intimation from post office for a payment of Rs.2598/=.             I had received an advertisement from India Today Book Club.
            They were selling a 16 CD SAAZ pack for 2249/- along with 3 free gifts
            including Adidas shoes.
            I sent them the cheques (4 cheques (Cheque Number[protected] to
            be deducted in three months) in July 2008.
            They confirmed receipt of cheques in August by calling me up.
            All the cheques have cleared at one time from my account on 3rd December 2008.

            India Today Book Club — Amount paid goods not received

            I had placd order no. GA[protected] for purchases and paid Rs 417/- vide credit card. While confirming the order, vide their e-mail dated 20/02/2009, I was informed that I would receive an email and an sms with my despatch details soon. However, that never happened. Instead, I was sent an e-mail, wherein I was informed that I missed the delivery of my order. As advised, I contacted their call center on 18th March 2009. I was informed that they would resend the package. The complaint no. given to me was 26835. Subsequently, a series of emails were exchanged. I was asked to provide copy of my credit card statement as proof of payment, subsequent to which they would refund the money. However, despite providing them the necessary proof, they are yet to deliver the goods or refund the amount.

            Hi,

            I had ordered for a product from India Today Book Club and the order no. is TELESALES/0GA[protected].
            It costed me Rs.2198 and I had paid this amount on 24th April, 2009 using my Credit Card.
            Though they have received this amount, they are still to deliver me this consignment.
            My below attempts have not yielded any results as yet:

            1. Telephonic converation with Mr. Mukul on 15th June 2009, reference No. 133302 and it was informed that consignment was sent on 2nd May 09 by Dart mail consignment No.55914433. But there is no record of that it is delivered to the customer nor it was sent back to India Today Book club.
            It was confirmed that they are arranging to send again and the consignment which would reach us in 15 days. However, till date we have not received the consignment.

            2. Today(24th Aug '09) again we talked over phone to Mr. Ashutosh Kumar, refer No.183111. He confirmed that delivery record is showing that consignment has not reached us. And assured yet again said that in 72 hours they will redeliver the consignment.

            I had booked an Order through Internet on INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB. Order was booked on 6th of July 2009. Its more than 2 months I had not received any order.
            When ever I try to call their customer care number :[protected] I get same answer " Due to technical failure your order details are not updated Kindly wait for 2 weeks."
            Paymet was made via Credit Card which was debited insantly after order was booked.

            ITBC/Digital Camera — Free gifts not given

            Against payment made by me on the 6th Oct, I received my Digital Camera on the 15th inst and since then I have been trying to claim the free gifts offered but to no purpose. This was against the order[protected].
            I had placed another order on the same day for a Mobile Phone, which was also paid the same day. ITBC refused receipt of payment till the 21st Oct and finally said there is no stock and refund the money after 3 to 4 weeks. It seems they rotate customers' money for their business.
            The offer of free gifts is a deliberate fraud as the website is not accessible and no reply comes forth from the e-mail i.d. they have given. I am totally frustrated spending nearly 12/15 hrs. of call time(Total waste) and exchanging more than 20 e-mails.
            If I were inDelhi I would have proceeded against them legally.

            offer of 2 wrist watches accepted payment made online ,this was in the month of feb,09 , till date not received anything over and above no refunds given , out of number of mails send only part of them are answered and that too with some query we need this number or bank code etc, twice i had send the hard copy of complaint to their office address but no reply , if you call the helpline they make us wait for 30 minutes and later tell us that they will call us in 2 working but never ever call up, strick action should be taken with these company and all there offers should be banned all over the country and proper lesson should be thought to them heavly penalising them so that they thing twicw before cheating any consumer.

            India Today Book Club — Pathetic customer (non)support

            I ordered Reebok shoes from India Today Book Club (Order ID[protected] They delivered the shoes however for same feet and with different sizes. On my complain as directed by their customer support I returned the shoes to following address

            I have not received my product even after a lapse of one year despite the several telephonic reminders as well as emails sent. I am enclosing all the details which i have already emailed several times.

              An offer was advertised for purchase of 3 cds on Encyclopedia Britanica with Adidas Bag and Holiday package for worth Rs 5000/= for a price of Rs 499/=. I paid Rs 610/= including postage an handling and got the CDs but not the free gifts. They advised me to log in to a Web for claims and furnish the details and including Unique Number. I did so But no response or acknowledgment as the claim registered. I have sent various mail, email and also talked their customer no. [protected] (more than 1o times) since last 4 months. They vaguely directed me to do as I had already done. Many time I had did the procedure and no commitment for gifts. I wrote several times for no response. Thus I intend to write to you.

              INDIA TODAY BRITANNICA ENCYCLOPEDIA CDS — NON RECEIPT OF HOLIDAY VOUCHER

              I had placed an order for 12CDS of Encyclopedia Britannica & Discover, which promised Free Reebok Tracksuit & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with veg meals for a couple for Rs.2499/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges on Jan., 17th 2009. I have received the 12CDS and Reebok Tracksuit but not the holiday voucher as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the CD & Tracksuit. In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. This simply seems to be an eyewash. There are already 637 complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? It's one kind of cheating.

              You are requested to look into the matter on priority basis, otherwise the matter will be put forward to Consumer Forum, media coverage and definately it's going to affect the reputation.

                India Today Book Club — Fraud regarding books

                I had taken this offer from ITBC wherein they were providing free return airticket and Adidas bag on buying their Books Buddy pack.When i got the pack 3 weeks ago there were no free gifts, instead they give me some codes and numbers to enter to register for free gifts on their website.It has ben 3 weeks now and the web does not accept the codes given by them.When you call the call center you get unhelpful representatives who parrot lines and the 5 times I called I was told supervisors are in a meeting.I have been writing to their mail response team and all theese people write back is to give them the codes which i have provided 4 times but to no avail.Are there more people who have been cheated like this by ITBC? I am really disgusted and feel cheated by their behaviour and scam.
                Oh my God. I was just browsing the portal and saw the complaints regarding India Today Book Club. To my astonishment it was same with me. I have lodged umpteenth complaints [regarding not getting the promised gifts of books against my subscription Id no ITE1785027] through email but all in vain for almost 8/9 months of my subscription. At last I wrote a letter to Mr Arun Purie, Managing Edit, India Today that on the pretext, i feel like being dupes by the magazine and that I am trashing INDIA TODAY from my readings, alongwith all the umpteenth hard copy of the emails send to their wecare [?????????] mail. Then only within a fortnight i got promised books [that too old and not of my choice] ... which I sold later to the 'raddiwala'.
                And I really meant that i am trashing INDIA TODAY from my readings, that I have not renewed my subscription nor I would purchase it from the book stall any more in my life.
                They think they are mighty print media and consider themselves invincible in Indian democracy. I hate 'India Today' of their arrogant and fraudulent attitude towards their subscribers.

                Today i.e 29/12/2008 i received my booksbudd pack along with that there is a leaflet inside for free gifts claim.I follow the link www.bookstoday.in/freegifs.htm and asked for the unique promotion number and e-mail id. Also, i could not found the unique promotion number printed on the invoice. There is nothing mentioned in the invoice.                 This is simply ridiculous. Can you please intervene and refund my money for shoes or help me get what company has promised to supply. It can not happen in the Land of Harishchandra that India Today is cheating 2219 people as on date.

                The India Today Book Club promotion campaigns of free holiday/ free flights are a great hoax. Sadly, many readers who associate with the magazine, get fooled by these ads.

                I had opted for the 3 nights/2 days vacation offer against the 16 CDs package of Sur, Saaz Aur Taal in february 2009. I got my CDs in time, but the information for claiming the gifts was mailed to me more than 2 months after the expiry of the validity period. The links given in their e-mail www.bigcity.com/ are inaccessible and repeated complaints to their address: [protected]@bicity.com did not elicit any satisfactory response.

                The other free gift of Reebok sunglasses did not arrive as promised. Please register my complaint and give this wide publicity.

                I had my doubts about the offer right from the beginning...how can any company offer a gift package of 3 days & 2 nights to any destination in India with free stay in a 3 or 5 star rated hotel + Air tickets for the whole family for just Rs. 3198 worth of goods?? The executive has been calling me continuously from the past 3 days to avail this and somehow I felt this some kind of "making a fool out of people" trick. Now i am happy to have seen this site where i find that so many people have been literally duped by these people. The govt must do something about this kind of activities carried out to cheat innocent people..It is really such a shame that a name like "India Today" can stoop to such levels!
                I have also lost rs.3198 . I got call from executive (MUKESH SINGH--emp id-20481)that after paying 3198 rs, i will get 3D/2N holiday free in 3/5 star hotels in any 45 destination for 2 persons & 1 child & also i will get round trip air ticket free for 2 persons which will be valid for 1 year .I asked this executive to make sure 1st that you are saying correct thing & you are not trying to cheat me.Later he called & told that its 100% true what ever i am saying & this offer is for today only.

                I paid amt 3198 through credit card & after 10 days, i received bunch of books(around 12 books) & 3 CDs in which one was broken & I didn't recieved any holidays voucher & air ticket

                They are cheating us & making us fool. I have called several times atleast 20 times on 40502424 but no -one pickes up the phone & i lost around 200 rs for calling them also

                India Today Book Club — Fraud of ITBC

                Somewhere in the month of August 2009, I received a phone call from India Today Book Club regarding an offer that after buying a Kodak Camera worth Rs. 7000/- approximately, I would receive a free coupons for a holiday pack for two and and Air Ticket voucher worth Rs. 5000/- free. I purchased the camera immediately using credit card. I received the camera in next 20-25 days which is not working fine from the first day.

                Regarding the free gifts, when I contacted customer care, very hardly I could connect to some person who told me my unique no.[protected]B[protected] and ITBC membership no. ITBC09115485 and guided me to download certain performas from some link and send it to Big City for the redeemption of the free vouchers which I sent in next 15-20 days (Somewhere in the first week of October 2009). Right from that day, I am waiting for those vouchers to come. The contact no. of[protected] is never recieved.

                In the first week of January 2010, once again I received a phone call from India Today Book Club for some another offer. I refused for the same and complained for the previous case. The executive told me there was some problem with Big City promotions so all of the our application forms have been rejected. He gave me a new order no. as 0GA[protected] for the same and assured that I would receive a call on 27th January for the previous case and then that issue would be resolved. He was also instisting me to buy the new products for new offer which I strongly refused.

                I didnot receive any call from India Today Book Club on till date from that time. ITBC is cheating people by calling them in this way.

I am failing to understand this that if you can call your customers hundred times for convincing them to buy the gifts, why can't you call them at least once, to give the status of the gift they are supposed to receive.

                I am very much aware that some companies from Delhi, are in the business of cheating their customers . But I was hoping that India Today is not amongst them. But with lot of grudge, I am forced to say that yes, India Today is also in the same league of cheating the customers.

                This time, I have again agreed to your terms and conditions of winning Rs. 25, 000, cheque for which i have bought a mobile phone worth Rs. 14, 000 ( Whose Market price is Rs. 12, 000) along with one membership card worth rs. 2500. But now, I doubtful whether I'll get the prize along with the gifts or I'll be cheated this time as well. As I am already pissed off with your service for the previous gift let me tell you for the last time that if I don't receive the gift within the next 15 days, I am going to take a complaint of this to the consumer forum.                 Dear Sir,

                I have been also one of the victim of India Today Book Club as they promise one thing do not respond after money is paid.

                I have been offered Kodak Digital Camera M380 for 9498 Rupees(INR) with free Reebok Wrist Watch, Holiday, Air ticket voucher and free diamond Jewellay coupons from the promotional sales department by phone on, and I have made payment from my credit card on the same day. But I have not received my items till date. When I contacted to the Customer Care[protected] on 25.01.2010 they informed me that they have dispatched the shipment by blue dart on 14.01.2010 vide Blue Dart POD: [protected] Ref: ORA[protected]TS. But I have not received till date.

                Again I have called up their customer care[protected] and sent e-mail complaints number of times, the only reply i am geting is that I have to wait 7 - 15 days. I am geting the same message from them whenever I call them. Even today (i.e.12.04.2010) I got the same message from them. I have sent several reminders to the following email addresses.

                On dated 10/03/10 at about 16.40hrs I received a call from India Today Book Club(Ph No: [protected],person Sanjeev Verma)and he told me that you have won Rs 160000/-, and for claiming this you have only to shop for Rs/- 24000/-, because your qualifying amount is short by Rs 24000/- and if you shop for the same amount then on 30 june 2010 your winning amount(160,000/-) will be transferred to your account or handed over to you in accordance with your wish. He assured me again and again that if i shop for 24000/- I will get my winning amount up to 30th June 2010 positively. As i trusted India Today so I agreed, then he told me that other person from their sales department will call you shortly for shopping. Approx. 15 Minute later I received a call from some other person and he told me regarding a Combo offer of Value approx 28000/- which include a Samsung Omnia Mobile of cost 22000/-, 2 no. rebock track suit of value 8000/-, 2 no rebock watch and a Gift Voucher of Rs 10000/-. As I was sure about my prize money because I Have trusts in India Today so I purchased the same and made payment through Credit Card. Then after 5 minute Mr. Sanjeev Verma calls me again and assured me for Prize. After making many telephonically conversation I received my order 2 month later and when I opened it I found that it was not the same as told by India Today Person. The market cost of mobile was Rs 13000/- approx. in stead of Rs 22000/- and also I did not receive my Gift Voucher of Rs 10000/- for which I complaint many time at India today complaint center and mailed them but did not get any response. Even after that I was Confidant that I will receive my winning money but when after passing of 10 days from the 30th June I did not get any amount or call from India Today Book Club, then I lodge a on line Complaint against them.                     Dear Sir,
                    Re : Membership Nos.ITBC0980725 and ITBC0980726 in my name.
                    Ref : My letter dated 24.08.2009.

                    I had received a telephone call from your representative from Delhi that you are having an offer for 2 night 3 days stay at any one place in India with free accommodation and air ticket for two adults and one child under five years of age. As the offer was sound interesting, I had chosen for two packages for my family consisting of two adult and two children above 5 years of age. Accordingly, I made tele-booking for two packages against credit card payment @ Rs.2598/- per package. Thus, I had made payment of Rs.5196/- in toto for two packages.

                    After such payment your representative Shri Santosh Das had assured that details regarding the package will be received by me within 15 days. To may utter surprise, on 13.08.09, I received two packets containing 12 similar books in each packet. There was no information regarding packages as discussed with me while booking. It was very shocking to receive two packets of books which I never booked. Then, I tried to contact Shri Santosh Das, who assured me to extend all possible help in case of need to the mobile number provided by him. But the mobile number provided by him did not belong to him but to some other lady employee of your office. This indicated the lack of sincerity of your staff who do not have courage to give correct mobile number let alone his sincerity to solve customer grievance. Then, one of your representatives attending[protected] advised me that I will receive the above packages as my free gift for purchasing these books. When I expressed my grievance against violation of agreed terms, he suggested me to return the books.

                    In view of the aforesaid, I would like state that your representative had misguided me as regards the packages and did not tell an iota about the purchase of books. Thus, you are not transparent in your activities and therefore, you are resorting to unfair trade practices. Under the circumstances, as I am not in favour of such unethical trade practice, I had returned two packets of Books in separate packets with request to refund Rs.5796/- (Rs.5196/- plus Rs.600/- towards courier charges for returning book packets) on 24.08.2009, vide my above letter. Further, I would like to state that I have the record that you have received the said packets sent through Kontest Courier Service on 27.08.2009. Thereafter, you have remained silent without any response and also without refunding the above amount to me.

                    In view of the above, I once again request you to refund me Rs.5796/- immediately failing which I will be compelled to take the matter to the appropriate Forum.

                      I got a mail from india today the famous magazine containing messege 3 fabolus gifts for 1 year subscription. Immediately i was booked subcription in month of december 2007 and i getting the issues from February 2008. But still now i am not got my subcription gifts. Many i time i requested by mail as well as telephone but every time their reply was it will take 2 to 3 weeks to send the gift. Its already more then 25 weeks over still i have not received my gift.

                      I have the doubt they are doing like this all the subcribers.

                      I subscribed Business Today ( magazine - subs. no. - BT 1551456 ) I have received gift parcel against my subscription of Business Today, but in place of shoe pair only old waste paper was observed. I wrote ( since Oct 2008 ) many times but all the time they replied that Adidas shoe pair will be sent in 4-5 weeks but shoe pair is not received, as yet even now they spopped replying also
                      I had subscribed India Today English weekly magazines for five full years before three years during 2007.
                      At first, they have promised me vacuum cleaner and a tour bag. Then it was chaged and changed to Addidas shoes. Until this moment I have not received the same.Please do the needful
                      "India Today" has cheated me by sending a defective and useless wristwatch after extracting a huge amount towards 3 years' subscription. While I had to return this 'gift' by spending another Rs.200/-, they have also stopped sending me the issues completely since last 3 weeks. So their intention is only to cheat people. I am going to initiate some legal recourse for refund my money and damages as I feel such publishers motive should be brought to light and a massive movement is necessary to make them stop such practices.

                      India Today truly sucks. I subscribed at the start of September 2013 and after following up for almost 2 months, I have received my subscription number (ITE1941984) by email. I have not received a single issue so far, forget the gift. I am not even pursuing the gift, as the magazines are a gift for my grandparents and I am relieved if these get delivered.

                      All I have received are a few emails in response to my queries, all assuring me that the magazine (including back issues) will be delivered.

                      I have not received a single issue so far. If an organisation takes my money & does not deliver what it promises, it is in my humble opinion - cheating or stealing.

                      India Today - either deliver my issues on time as promised with back issues/ extension of subscription, or else refund my money.

They have taken my money, partially executed the order and have the temerity of demanding more money for completion of the order. Moreover these high flying Sawhneys and others do not have even the courtesy of replying to mails orletters.

                          NON EXECUTION OF ORDER NUMBER OGA[protected] BEARING INVOICE NUMBER ORA[protected] IN TOTALITY BY INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB.



                          I am a member of your Book Club since long bearing Membership Number ITBC07310264. I had placed an order for "C2008" and paid the amount in full vide Demand Draft Number 763484 dated 24.06.2008 for Rs 999/- ( as demanded by you) on SBI, Service Branch New Delhi.



                          I was surprised to receive a packet containing a partial execution of the order and the most coveted part of the order, i.e 8 Volumes of TINTIN Comics ( which were the primary reason for ordering ) was not a part of the same packet as referred to above. There was no mention in the accompanying invoice that the 8 volumes of TINTIN would not be available.



                          I started to believe that the same would reach me subsequently.



                          I was surprised to see in your booklist of July 2008 ( Vol 10 No 4) that C2008 pack of June 2008 was no more available. I gave at least 20 mails to your address [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com and [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com without getting any reply.



                          Subsequently I called up your helpline number[protected] and asked for the status of my order. People out there ( probably a call centre ) were rude enough to disconnect the calls.



                          I persisted and subsequently a mail was given to me from ITBC that it was in the process of "procuring" the Comics and my order would be executed "soon". This too was about 1 month back.



                          Today I again called up your help(?)line and one Mr Satyaprakash told me very politely that the books were unavailable and my order could not be executed . The costs for procuring the books were higher than the published price. So I could either have a partial refund which I don't want or I would have to pay about Rs 2000 extra to have my order executed in full. This information he had gathered from your marketing department.



                          Now my question to you Mr Sawhney is that why should I be held at ransom and how am I to blame if ITBC makes a mistake in its calculations? I had promised my children the total set of TINTIN comics which they were expecting and anxiously waiting for. I was also keeping up their expectations as I had faith in the commitment of ITBC . Everyday I go back home from office, I am greeted with "It has not come". Now they have started disbelieving me. I hope you understand my position now.



                          ITBC has made me lose face in front of my children for no fault of mine with their incompetence. As a parent I think you will understand the mental anguish and pain that has been forced upon me by your incompetent people. Now the help(?)line / marketing people of ITBC have the temerity of asking for more money for execution of the order for which I had paid in full.



                          Is this how ITBC functions nowadays by fleecing its customers? Some people could call these actions as cheating its customers. I would not say that as I have faith in India Today Group as I am a subscriber of the India Today magazine since long and a member of ITBC since it was launched.



                          Now that ITBC has painted my face in black in front of my children, may I request you to kindly look into the matter and resolve the matter so that I can get those 8 volumes of TINTIN comics without paying extra so that I can recover some face in front of my children?



                          I know that ITBC is not in the habit of giving replies to e-mails and this is exactly why I am writing you this letter. I know that your organization is a big one and one customer here or there may not matter much but I have faith in you and hope that you shall be able to solve my problem.



                          The whole affair has been in very bad taste for such a reputed (?) organization. Please try to restore my faith in your organization. I know that there are still good and rational people in this world who are courageous enough to take correct decisions to obviate customer grievances.

                          it was on around 16th February 2009, i had received an email advertisement from INDIA TODAY BOOK Club.

                          i thought it was a useful thing for me and i trusted the online shopping system, as i had never been cheated before by any one online.

                          I had ordered India Today Book Club vide Order no. M-COMMERCE / 0GA[protected] on 16 Feb 2009, the payment has been made through my SBI credit card to them.

                          BUT inspite of repeated complaints and enquiries and related talks with those guys on phone number[protected], they are telling they are trying to solve the issue and its been since Feb 09, i am unable to receive any response them.

                          The details of conversations are:

                          on 24 - Mar - 2009: talked with Mr Amar deep, Interaction id: 35210 : he said the item has not been despatched but will be despatched within next 4-5 days.

                          on 03 - April - 2009 talked with Mr Lalit Mohan, interaction id: 51340 : he said the item has been booked with the postal department with consignment number ED[protected] IN from Speed Post.

                          on 18 - May - 2009 talked with Mr Dinesh, interaction id: 106785, he said this will be taken down as complaint and will take few days say a week to get resolved. he assured that the ordered things will reach the consigned place shortly.

                          on 18 - May - 2009 talked with Mr Samrat, interaction id: 106810, he said the complaint will be given priority and the ordered items will be sent / resolved with 15 days.

                          and today is 31 May 2009 and there is no news from INDIA TODAY...

                          They are cheating and is there any one to stop them from cheating any further indians or any other human being on this planet... really unworthy people i have dealt with and un committed also.

                          I believe the issue here will get resolved.

                          I am Krutang Desai. My India Today Book Club member ship no. is ITBC09970829. This complain is w.r.t. my current Order No. M-COMMERCE / 0EA[protected]Complaint no. 239340), which consists of (1 swatch watch, 1 reebok laptop bag and 1 reebok shirt) for which I have already paid Rs. 3198. Actually this order had been placed on 8 September 2009 and its initial order no. was M-COMMERCE / 0GA[protected], which was not delivered to me due to some technical problem at their end. After repetitive calling to customer care, they reprocessed my order and gave me a new order no. M-COMMERCE / 0EA[protected] on 25th October.
                          However, this was not an end to it. I have yet not received the delivery of my order and every time when i call customer care, i just get one answer from them that due to some technical problem we were unable to process your order and it will DEFINITELY reach you in next 10 working days. When i give them a call after these 10 working days, the new operator gives the same answer and the delivery of my order is getting delayed undefinitely.
                          Moreover, the follow ups from my side are not only through phones, but i do have mail communications wherein also the same response is reflected.

                          I have already paid the amount(Rs. 3198) in advance and am regretting my decision now. I do not no how to get this sorted out and after loosing my patience, i am approaching this forum with a lot of hope that my order gets delivered at the earliest.

                          I request you to please help me overcome this. Please let me know if you need any further details. Also if this is not the proper channel, please let me know whom to approach.

                          I have made an payment of Rs 1198 on 18th december for a pair of reebok glasses with a reebok watch, i have written to them so far for at least 15 times but in vain .                           Order for Rs. 2498 toward rebock items was placed on 23rd July and payment made by credit card. the goods have not been delivered till date inspite of various email reminders and phone calls made. email replies from the club ask us to be patient and that complaint is forwarded to concerned department. when we phone from mumbai ( std charges), it take 15-20 minutes to get the person on line after keeping it on hold with no answer.after 9 months of waiting we need justice now

They always ask me to wait for another 4-5 days but now it has been more than 70 days since i am being getting fooled . Kindly help me out.

                          This is Vijay kumar who ordered items of Reebok products by looking the advertisement in India Today news paper.
                          I ordered 7 items of Reebok products they are
                          1.Reebok Lite Runner shoes 9
                          2.Reebok Tee shirts-L size
                          3.Reebok SunGlasses
                          4.Reebok Bag
                          5.Reebok Towel(Fitness Kit)
                          6.Reebok watch white dial black strap(I16631) Round Dial

                          In out of 7 items i got only 2 items they are no.4 & 6.

                          I paid the total amount of Rs.3298/- as in bill for total of 6 items. this is a part of cheating to the consumer while ordering the items in India today book club.

                          this is be taken in to consideration of Cheating by India Today Book club.

                          I HAD REVEIVED OFFER FROM INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB OF 16 CD PACK OF RAAGA WITH FREE GIFT OF 8 BEST SELLERS, 2 N 3 D HOLIDAY PACKAGE AND sun glass. I sent the order form accordingly and the amount of 2498 was claimed by INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB DELHI ON 13/4/2010. Howerver the same was not delivered upon enquiry i was told to send the scanned copy of the card stantement to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com which i sent promplty. Evenafter that when i didnot got response i contacted customer care again where i was told to send the mail to [protected]@bagittoday.com which also i complied. Upon reminder i was told to send the email to new id [protected]@bagittoday.com. I sent the mail with the scanned copy of the card statement and all required information. Even after repeated reminders the company failed to comply with the order even after elapse of 4 months. Kindly guide me to take up matter further.

                          This is to report an issue I am facing with book club. Someone from their office called me from the number '[protected]' @ 3:54PM on 15th October and told me that I had won a prize worth 27000 in the sweepstakes and to confirm my prize I have to give me their address and also a 300 rupee charge for Courier. They asked me to pay the money via the Credit Card via Phone Banking and I did so. To my surprise I realized that they had deducted 14996 from the CC for God knows what product. The guy on the phone kept telling me that it was some kind of a watch that would be sent.

                          I have only two demands from them
                          1. Let me know what was done with the money that you deducted from the Credit Card. What is the item for which the order has been placed?
                          2. If there is some order placed, then when would I be receiving it?

                          The Order# is AA0002934 and I have the transaction ID on my CC statement in case you'd want to get that so I don't want to lhear back from those folks that this transaction never took place.

                          I have tried calling back on that number but that call never goes through. All the contact emails and telephone numbers are also fake and no emails or calls ever pass through.

                          This is not a request or a plea. I give them 7 days to resolve this complaint because I won't hesitate a bit to approach the Consumer Court after that.

They are not responding my queries sent through mail. I am planning to go to consumer court. I will take printed copy of order page, my emails and complaints in this page as a proof.

                                I called to their New-Delhi number[protected] mnaytimes and there is NO response, so Please give your valuable suggestions.

                                    Is it reliable

                                    Hi

                                    I got a mail IRCTC and India Today Book Club (ITBC) stating that there's gonna be a draw which will win me prizes if luck clicks.

                                    I've signed in and ordered the offers (which includes a tour package, an adidas bag and few books) worth 500.

                                    I would like to if there's something like "ITBC" really exists and is the lucky draw gonna happen for sure?

                                    I had subscribed for three books- Namesake, How to get from where you are to where you want to be and The Naked face/Memories of Midnight. I have received these books but the free products i.e. holiday package, addidas bag and water bottle is yet to be received though I have made advance payments.
                                    I had ordered Sony ericsson mobile for 3000 rs. and india today book club had assured free round trip air ticket. For 2 weeks the unique identification number was not opening then i called them but there no one picks up. Now when i tried using the site, it opened up and has a link to another site http://www.bigcity.in/indiatodaybookclub which i've been trying for couple of days and its not opening. I think indiatodaybookclub is a scam, and are fooling people. Pls let us take action against these kind of people who doesnt care a damn about consumers. Legal action should be taken against them

                                      I had purchased the Britannica Encyclopedia CDs on 21st July, 2008. It also included a free Gift Voucher worth Rs. 5000 from Surat Diamonds and a Tupperware Lunch Box. I had made this purchase for Rs. 525.

                                      I received the payment confirmation email from them stating my Order Number and that the order will be recieved within 2-3 weeks. I had sent an email to the same e-mail ID on 19th August, 2008. However, I have not received a reply from them. My Order Number is MITBC-WEB-0686467.

                                      Please assist in getting my order or have the money returned to me.
