This is devendra tiwari from mumbai. I paid fees on 14th january 2017 when i was in 12th to sams college (Southern academy of maritime studies). Enquiring to executive manish chaudhry. Criteria was 60% and above in pcm. I asked him if i was not able to score he told me we will refund the fees i have call recording also now they were just giving dates but yet not refunded and now they are not even picking my call there contact number [protected],

Sir,
I have written the imu_cet entrance exam of 2018 and qualified the above. Then i applied for the imu-cet online counselling by paying ₹10000 which is refundable for those candidates whose name is not reflected in any of the 3 lists. My name is not reflected in any of the the 3 lists. And my counselling fees is not yet refunded. I hav'nt heard from them till this date. I try to contact them but i did'nt get through. I wrote a complaint mail to them to www.imu.edu.in which is also not responding. I kindly request you to look seriously through this matter.

I was ranked 6270 in imu cet. And i paid the fees of counselling rs 10000. But i was not listed in any of the list. I have mailed them earlier for the same and they replied that it will be around 20 august. But still i didn't get it. Later i mailed them, but this time they didn't even replied me. But they did not reply me. I even called them and they told me that the admission process is going on. But it has now been 2 months that classes have commenced. I was hoping that i will get admitted. So i request them to kindly refund my money.

I have appeared in imucet 2018 and cleared with 9277 rank, then i have attended the online counselling but my name is not mentioned in three lists published by imu. Then i inquired about my counselling fee refund through email and they replied me saying that, admission process will be completed on 20 aug and after that fee will be refunded. But after 20 aug i have again mailed but no reply is sent to me and also i have called to the number given on imu website but they were just transferring the calls and finally hanged up by them. What should i do now.

I have already paid my convocation fees for 3rd convocation and now on the imu website it shows as follows:
"all students who have cleared all semesters between 01.01.2016 and 31.12.2017, have become eligible for the 3rd convocation [this condition is not applicable to students from the dns leading to b. Sc (Applied nautical science) programme].”

What happens to the money that i have paid. I have cleared my all my sems in sep 2018 and already sent my 2nd mate fg mark sheet which i cleared on 12.12.2017 for which i have got no reply. The website also says :
2. Students from dns leading to b. Sc (Applied nautical science) programme and are unable to register successfully for the 3rd convocation could be for the following reasons:

A) the student has already become eligible in the 1st or 2nd convocation held previously.

B) the dlp practical marks/ sstp marks of the student from the concerned imu campus/affiliated institute has not been received and/or the 2nd mate from the concerned student has not been received within the due date.

I have done everything before 10th feb 2018 which is the due date. Kindly clarify and inform about my present status.

My child Shrenik Mutha studying at Tolani Maritime Institute in 2nd year B.tech Marine Engineering was not allowed attending the college or staying in the hostel without any prior written intimation. We parents (Mr. S.B.Mutha, Mrs S.S. Mutha) were not satisfied with the reasons given for not allowing to attend college or stay in the hostel, so we request the Principal (Mr. Saxena) through mails and also personally meeting him to allow our child to attend the college and complete his 2nd year B.tech in Marine Engineering.
Each time Principal ignored the matter. He decided to suspend my child listening to baseless complaints made by senior students without verifying them. He told that he would not waste one year of my child’s career and also told us that he would extend the admission fee date and also cover up all study hours missed by my child.
On 15th Jan 2018 we went to meet the Principal to ask regarding the admission process, that time also he ignored the matter saying I am retiring from my post and so would take a decision regarding my child in 3-4 days after handing over the charge to the new Principal. We did wait till 21st Jan 2018 for some decision from his side. But, since no communication was received, we went to meet the Principal on 22nd Jan 2018.
In this meeting he said for the first time that the suspension is for one year, thus wasting 2 years of my child’s career for any rubbish and baseless complaints from senior’s students. We tried to convince him but he refused to listen. After this meeting, while leaving the cabin, the Principal called up the below mentioned teachers to beat my child. Almost 25-30 teachers along with the Principal ruthlessly beat my child and also me.

were the main teachers along with other teaching staff who attacked us. Also, Harish Krishna Despande said that we would not fear even if the Prime Minister is called as their power is more than PM of India.
This is not the way teachers and Principal should behave.
The senior students, teachers and also Principal were ragging my child from many days, so we also spoke with the Principal and tried to highlight the matter, but he ignored it each time.
After this incident we reported it to the nearby Police Station and filed a complaint against these people. However, their advocate asked us to compromise on the issue, which was not justice done with us. The college authorities forced us to withdraw our admission by attacking us again in the Police station and also mentioned in the letter that they would call local goons to kill our child if he is seen in the premises again.
We then asked the college to return our entire fees and also original documents. We are not satisfied by the decision of compromising as for no mistake of my child, these people have spoiled one year of his career.
Form the above facts it is clear that there is no justice with common man in the country.
We still feel that Tolani Maritime Institute should allow him to complete his B.Tech in Marine Engineering so that we get proper justice.

Dear sir/madam,

I cdt. Shrenik mutha studying in tolani maritime university talegaon, induri campus have not recived a challan for payment of fees of 2nd year 2nd semester b. Tech in marine engineering from my college. All other students have received their challan, but my fee challan is missing. I have contacted my college staff, but they are not ready to look into the matter.

I fear that if this matter is not looked into my admission would be cancelled and one year of my career will be wasted. I request you to highlight this matter.

It is in your record that on 24th june, 2017 i approached himt college for admission in the stream of bsc.
(Nautical science). I was told by the institution that the course is affiliated to indian maritime university (Imu) which was established by government of india. It was further informed that the duration of the course is 3 years and i was provided with a break up of course fees which stipulates that a fee of rs.2, 75, 000/- has to be paid for each year. But after going through clause 6 of the guradian-cum-indeminity bond, i came to know that after the payment of an amount of rs.35, 000/- as program fees for the first year, i have to make a payment of rs.25000/- each in the subsequent years of the course as program fees which was not informed to me at the time of taking admission. Moreover, after being aware of such a clause i tried to clarify about it from the office administration of the himt college and to my utter surprise i was told that they are not liable to inform me about such payment before taking the admission.
Initially, i paid rs.50, 000/- and rs.35000/- respectively by way of two different demand drafts along with relevant documents for taking admission. It is relevant to mention that the money receipt of rs.50, 000/- only was issued by the institution at the time of admission but the payment made by me was of rs.85, 000/- in total through the two different demand drafts issued in the favour of the himt college. I was verbally told by your office administration that the money receipt for the balance of rs.35, 000/- on the day of reporting (I. E. On 15th july, 2017) when i would be attending the class for the first day.
After making the payment one of your office staff gave me a joint undertaking cum indemnity bond to be signed by me and my parents and asked me to submit the same on the day of reporting. After returning back to home and upon going through the clauses stipulated in the said undertaking, i was advised by my parents not to sign the document as the clause are imminent in nature and prejudicial to my future prospect.
It is pertinent to mention that i had even mailed at [protected]@himtmarine.com on 5th july about my situation due to which i am unable to continue with the admission proceedings and i had also requested to return the admission fees alongwith my original documents which are submitted with the institution for the purpose of admission regarding which i did not receive any reply from the institution.
In the aforesaid backdrop, i request you to kindly refund my advance deposit fees i. E. Rs.85, 000/- within 48 hours since i am no more intending to join the bsc (Nautical science) course in himt college and upon your failure to refund the said amount, i will be compelled to take strict legal action against you.

Dear Sir, With due respect it is stated that I Abhinav Singh Kathait took admission in HIMT college- Chennai as a regular candidate in B. Sc (Nautical Science). I submitted a DD in favour of “INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY” of Rs. 25000/- vide DD no. 944891 dated 01/07/2015 from State Bank of India, Branch – Chandimandir Cantonment –Panchkula (Haryana). My admission forms and verification was done in HIMT College-Chennai. The course fee is too much higher than my father budget and my father is going to retire soon from Indian Army, as he can’t afford the course fees. I want to request you that kindly cancel my enrolment and refund my fee which I submitted to the college administration on 8th July, 2015. I shall be highly obliged to you.

Sir/Madam, I, Sandeep Kumar, have applied for MBA in "Indian Maritime University, Chennai" and paid the Admission Registration/Counselling fees (Rs.10, 000/- non-refundable) along with Programme fees (Rs.25, 000/- refundable) at the time of counselling on[protected]. But due to some family problems, I was unable to join the applied course for which the commencement of classes is from[protected]. I didn’t attended even a single class. Now, when I called them for refunding the programme fees, they denied for it. After that I decided to go to their place. I went there on[protected] and asked for the same. They again denied to refund it. But when I showed them it is clearly mentioned in terms & conditions of the letter they issued regarding the refund, that the programme fees is refundable only in the case when the student didn’t attend even a single class. Then they asked me to write an application mentioning the reason. I handed over the application along with the original documents (on their demand). They said that they will contact me within a month. But till dated, there is no notification or call from their side. I am attaching the fees receipt and admission confirmation letter along with this complaint. I request you to help the regarding the mentioned problem. I would be very thankful to you. 1)DECK CADETS AND TRAINEE ENGINEERS REMAIN JOBLESS AFTER 6 MONTHS OF FINISHING COURSE; COLLEGE REMAINS A SPECTATOR....
Let me say one thing first.When each and every one of my friends, relatives and neighbours ask me as to why I am still jobless after doing such a celebrated course and choosing such a lucrative profession as the merchant navy I dont have an answer.All the excuses i provide are not even satisfactory to my own conscience.The fire have already started burning within me and who am I to blame for all this.Myself? I cant raise a word against my dear father who tried with all his might to dissuade me from opting BS NT and the merchant navy as a whole.What the F is wrong with shipping? If no one is taking any cadets whats gonna be the future of the industry.Arent today's cadets tomorrow's masters and chief engineers?What are we supposed to do? In some days my bank will summon me to start paying my 8 lakh loan back.Boy! am I not really screwed?.
One unfortunate soul (dont wanna expose his name) called me two weeks ago.He was my senior in NSC(Nut Science College), same NT.He finished the course one year ago and is still running helter-skelter in Mumbai.He was willing to pay even upto 3 or 4 lakhs but still is no where near a ship.Its now almost one and a half years after he passed out and he has to finish the one year sailing (3 years already spent in college) and everything within 6 years.If not his course will go invalid.I heard one friend of the same guy talking about giving 2 lakh rupees to an agent and getting cheated.He too is yet to get on board, but him being awfully rich is not at all having concerns.It was also heard that one friend of mine whose dad is a second engineer in NYK ship management and uncle a captain in TEEKAY tankers is finding it difficult to get a ship after 6 months of passing out.If that is the case of someone with handful of recommendations whats gonna be the case of all the rest who has got no one in the field to vouch for them? Cant commit suicide definitely...
The only positive news was the call from MMSI requesting the cadets to appear for their online test.That too was a pain in behind.They called some cadets, leaving many behind without any significance to the CGPA.Out of those who got the call only a few got the corresponding email.I got lucky to receive the mail and to attend the test.When i went there i saw fellow batch mates in suit and tie, well groomed already finishing their three months job search in Mumbai.Got 3 lakhs you will get a ship.That too under your own risk.Cant trust any agents too.

PRIOR TO OUR ENTERING THE MARITIME STUDIES, WE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE LIMITATIONS OR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRAINNING INSTITUTES TO GUIDE US IN COMPLETING OUR MINIMUM SHIPBOARD TRAINING, REQUIRED FOR COMPETENCY CERTIFICATE EXAMINIATIONS.

THERE HAVE BEEN BARELY A FEW SHIPPING COMPANIES WHO CONDUCTED CAMPUS INTERVIEWS WHILE WE WERE STUDYING, THAT TOO FOR INSIGNIFICANT RECRUITMENTS. OUR INSTITUTES’ AUTHORITIES TOLD US THAT THEY CAN DO NO FURTHER AND LEFT US WITH THE ONLY OPTION TO CONTACT SHIPPING COMPANIES TO SECURE OUR PLACEMENT ALL BY OURSELVES.
NOW WE ARE STRANDED IN THE CROSS ROADS, WITH ONLY A SIMPLE PAPER DEGREE IN HAND, WITH NO ONE TO CARE FOR US. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED ENTRY IN ANY OF THE SHIPPING COMPANY OFFICES WHO ARE IN CONTROL OF THE CADETS’ SLOTS ON THEIR SHIPS. WE ARE PRACTICALLY ROTTING IN THE STREETS OF MUMBAI AND OTHER CITIES WHERE WE ARE SUBJECT TO VERY LOW STANDARDS OF LODGING AND RESORTING TO UNHYGIENIC OPTIONS OF LIVING, WITHOUT MONEY BACKING. WE ARE UNABLE TO BEAR THE COST OF DAILY JOURNIES TO VISIT SHIPPING COMPANIES AND ASSOCIATED COSTS OF DOCUMENTATAIONS SUBMITTING APPLICATONS. WE ARE NOT SURE OF THEIR PROFESSSIONAL STANDING AND THAT THEY WOULD STAND BY THEIR PROMISE. FURTHER AT THIS STAGE WE ARE TORN OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES THAT WE CAN ILL AFFORD TO TAKE ANY RISK PAYING ANY AGENT.

Sir/Madam,

This is to bring into notice that I with many of my friends have admitted our self in Indian Maritime University for PG Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management[protected]. The attached file was given into notice that we are passed out but unfortunately we have not got our mark sheet or diploma. We are constantly in touch with our course coordinator Mr. Mrinal Kanti Dasgupta (mobile: [protected]) for the last one year but he is unable to give any proper answer. We are helpless as this cannot be excepted from a Central Government University. If any Government University does this, how can students rely?
Please help us..

Students who wrote IMU CET 2011 and qualified it expected they would get a seat either in IMU chennai campus or IMU/MERI/DMET Kolkotta campus as per the brochure of imu cet 2011 which did not mention any (not even a single ) information of affiliated institutes . This was a false declaration mde by the university.Some expected IMU seats and had given up other colleges because the result of the CET was in JULY-august and the merit seats in normal engg colleges get filled and thereby left with no choice of other college . So dont believe on commitments that IMU makes and confirm any matter 100 times

Sir, they are not uploading the result of CET 2011 which was on 19/06/2011,
as per their scheduled date, the result must be released on their pre-fixed date 27/06/2011....
but still they have not uploaded.
Moreover they are not answering any calls and even if they do receive,they put the call on hold
they are not responding to any of our queries and also not telling us the final date of declaration of our results.

REFUND OF REGISTRATION FEE.
My name is Rajesh kumar.I had given CET-2010 for DNS course under roll no.-PUNNS2111.I had attended the councelling in INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY,EAST COAST ROAD, UTHANDI, CHENNAI on 23/07/2010.I was alloted Yak educational trust ,navi mumbai.I had submitted a draft opf rs.10000/ in university which was non refundable and also submitted rs 27500/ as registration fee which is refundable in case i don't take admission.I had not taken admission in that college.Now i called IMU many times to refund the draft regarding this i had faxed them twice one on 8/8/2010 and second on 10/11/2010 also i had send them two registered letters one on the name of chief exam coordinator and second on the name of academic section on 11/11/2010.but they always ask like you will get in 10 days but almost four months are passed but i am not getting my money back.please help me out as my parents are poor and they can not afford more money for my further education.i am continously calling university on[protected]/24531085/24530878 and everyone answers me different.And i am from Himachal Pradesh and i can't come down Chennai personally.
