I had registered for a Product Management course with Intellipaat (led by the prestigious IIM Ranchi) and requested a refund due to personal reasons.
This refund request was made on 5th May 2025. After hundreds of follow-up calls and filing consumer complaints across various portals, the company finally confirmed that the refund would be processed within a month.
However, just 10 days before the refund was supposed to be completed (and 10 days before the EMI due date), I received a call from the escalations manager, who used coercive tactics to pressure me into marking the complaint as resolved.
Due to personal reasons and the desperate need to close the loan, I agreed and marked the complaint resolved. Please note: I had also paid an operational cost of ₹28, 000 to facilitate this refund.
Despite receiving a confirmation email regarding the refund timeline, the refund was not processed on time. It was only after I involved IIM Ranchi that the matter began moving forward.
Eventually, after months of waiting, follow-ups, and enduring coercive behaviour, ₹1, 08, 000 was refunded to the loan company.
However, the course fee was ₹1, 40, 000, and I haven’t received the remaining amount (excluding the operational cost I paid).
This doesn’t even include the penalties, interest, EMI bounce charges, etc., that I had to bear during this process.
For a reputed institute like IIM Ranchi to be associated with Intellipaat is deeply disappointing. Even after sending a follow-up email to understand when the remaining amount will be refunded, I have received no response.
All my consumer complaints have now been marked as disposed of on various portals. At this point, this post is not only to raise another formal complaint, but also to warn others considering any Intellipaat courses (IIM/IIT-led or not). There have been numerous complaints about delays, poor course materials, and unresolved issues.
I still urge the leadership team to respond to this complaint, rather than simply disposing of it again.
I truly hope no one else falls prey to such an organisation and suffers the mental and financial distress I’ve experienced.
