My Jeep Compass limited plus (KL08BU7003) who we were traveling on for 2 days
from Karnataka to Thrissur (places in india), on reaching kannur(a place in between karnatake and thrissur) at 5:45 pm we stopped for a tea break for less than 5 minutes, when we got back to the car the car wouldn’t turn on. We understood the battery was dead. Ironically we had gone to the service centre in thrissur, kerala, india 1 day before the trip and checked out everything including the battery in which they stated the battery was okay a 100%. We called mopar road side assistance and they said they’re 30 kms away and will take alot of time to reach us, so they asked us to jumpstart the vehicle on our own and drive half way to the road side assistance personnel. On that drive, we had the worst nightmare of a drive. Seriously it was scary. The car just kept shutting down on road while on a bridge and god we were scared. The power steering wheel system kept shutting because of insufficient battery power and it kept locking. We called the service centre in kannur and they sais to us “our working time is over drop ur car here and we will look at it tomorrow“ and we said ok and we payed rupees 8000/- ($105)for a room and we stayed there. We asked the service center people at kannur if they can deliver the car to us atleast, but they said they cant. After all it is the thrissur service center’s fault. Next day they said the cells in the battery have died and that theres a unpleasant smell coming from the battery. The battery has to be changed every 1 year!! Last year on January 2021 we had to change the battery. And this year exactly by 1 year 1 month we have to change the battery again. This is the 3rd battery now. If car batteries will die every year then whats the sense in that?
Mopar service team is saying we should have called a tow truck, but they’re personnel is the one who asked us to drive all the way to meet him and then from there go to the nearest service centre. Plus, we were stuck in the middle of nowhere, a tow tuck to reach our location would take Atleast 2 hours. And it was getting late, we could’ve not gotten food even as we are a whole family.
We owned a jeep grand cherokke And that car in the 5 years of owning it has never done this to us.
The kannur and thrissur team was of no help, especially thrissur hyson dealer, They ensured on the battery and everything else being 100% alright.
Now we have to pay for a battery and lost alot on a hotel. Was this information helpful? |
