[Resolved] Jet Airways — Flight travel not allowed even after issuance of Boarding Passes | |
Dear Sir/Madam,
I had booked air tickets for my newly married son and daughter-in-law (Naveen Kumar Ponnambalanathan and Saranya Alagappan) by JetKonnect flight no. 2343 for travel from Chennai to Madurai on 29th April. The tickets were booked through Yatra.com and the Airline PNR was 4JHLEY. My son and daughter-in-law were going to Kodaikanal for their honeymoon.
They reached Chennai Airport one hour before the scheduled flight timing of 09.45 hours and got their luggage checked-in. The boarding passes were issued by your counter staff and they proceeded for security check. While my daughter-in-law could complete the security check quickly, it has taken more time for my son to complete the security check due to heavy crowd. When both of them reached the boarding gate, the Jet Airways staff said that the boarding time is over and they cannot be allowed to proceed to the aircraft. It was 09.35 hours at that time and there was still 10 minutes left for the take off of the flight.
Any amount of request from my son and daughter-in-law did not change the stand of your staff who bluntly refused to allow them to board the aircraft. When asked about the luggage, they told the same will be offloaded and given back. It is surprising that they had time to offload the checked-in luggage from the aircraft; but do not have time to allow the passengers who have completed the security check to board the flight.
My son had no other option than cancel the ticket and proceed to Madurai by hiring a taxi spending around Rs.10000. In the process, he has lost the whole of 29th and reached Kodaikanal by night 10 pm only. One can understand the mental tension being faced by the young couple who were going for their honeymoon.
The above incidence shows the adamant attitude of your staff at the Chennai Airport which has caused so much of mental agony not only to those who were to travel but also to other family members.
A message has been received giving the cancellation code as (1OGB55O)Wi Fi[protected]. I request that the entire amount of Rs.11038 paid by me for booking the air tickets be refunded without any deduction since it is not our fault that the passenger could not travel in that flight. In fact, you should pay us compensation for the mental agony and loss of time, money etc. caused due to the missing of the flight.
