On 26th march 2022, i was sitting in another room when the glass of the kaff chimney installed in the kitchen spontaneously cracked to a thousand pieces. Thank god that no one was around no one got injured. This was dangerous situation where the glass spontaneously broke. It was not in use, the gas was not on.
I called the CC and raised a complaint[protected]. I did get a call from Kaff Chandigarh and subsequently spoke to abhay katyal the regional head. They refused to reimburse fully or replace it for free. apparently i have to shell out 4000rs which is almost 50% the price of the chimney. I was told by these representative of this company that they have never heard of such incident. I see in this forum there is a complaint from 2021 one from 2019 etc. so obviously this is not new or unique. however kaff has not taken into account any of this and has not taken any steps to rectify it. meanwhile the glasses spontaneously crack and shatter all over India. while the representative feign ignorance and are there only to make money out of customers pocket. It is their responsibility to check on this and plug this defect . but they are just pushing it under the rug.i even asked Mr katyal that they should check once as to why is this happening? The response -" glass is broken what is there to check?" so obviously no interest or checkpoints to correct this from the company. their answer kaff will agree to reimburse this for free. Really! what standards!
I would like the glass to be replaced for free irrespective of warranty or no warranty . why should i shell out from my pocket since clearly this is a manufacturing defect and that they should take this matter seriously and learn from this rather than shrugging away from their own responsibility. The attitude of Indian companies is always as such- take more from customer and never accept mistakes.
