I attended the interview for computer instructor at kV Kodagu. Due to urgent requirement for DEO, the Principal appointed me for the DEO post as on April 1st 2021, promising that I can skip to computer instructor post as soon as it is vacant, while it is not mentioned in the agreement. Note that I had to leave my previous job as a computer teacher.
Secondly, we contractual employees are forced by the Principal to wash his water glasses on daily basis as well as clean his table, not allowing the sub staff to do the same saying that they clean toilets so it cannot be done by them. If denied to do the same, then we are rudely treated for the whole day.. Sometimes it will be more than 4.30pm or even 5 to 5.30pm when we leave the campus as most of the works were given around 4 o clock.
Thirdly, Kodagu bearing one of the highest covid cases in the state and strict lockdown policies being implemented in the district, we contractual employees were made to come to our duties with a permission letter of previous year, no matter what the situation was.. and made to work till late evening.. Finally one staff reported covid positive, the Principal delayed in taking serious measures. The health department was informed lately for the covid test of rest of the staffs. While we had to return back to our homes in bad weather conditions after waiting till 4 p.m without any test being done.. ofcourse there was no vehicles or any single human on the road as it was Saturday 01/may/2021 with lockdown as well. I had to drop my colleague in my 2 wheeler on that rainy evening with the cost of our health in such pandemic. This shows how much care the Principal has on the employees.
Finally almost 90% of the staffs including me have been tested positive except the Principal.
On 5th of May my salary was still not credited while all the staff salary has been created. Upon calling the Principal in such an emergency time he told that all important payments are done. No more payments will be done in this time. My question is.. when we are sacrificing our health and risking for our duties in such strict lockdown in the district, and also working from 8.45am to 4.30pm sometimes working overtime as well, do we deserve this kind of rude behaviour. Salary is our main right, if this is not being given in the right time, What are we working for? As a former teacher with distinction in BCA this is a disrespect for my post as well... Should I keep continuing with such an administration.? I had big hopes on KV careers. Disappointed!!!
