Kinderjoy — Gender stereotyping in toys
I have enjoyed Kinderjoys for many years now, and even though the chocolate is delicious, It is for most children (including my brother and I) the mystery toys that attract us. These toys were always fun to figure out and to play with. Our Aunt recently gave us Kinderjoys and we eagerly opened them, not noticing that these were the ones that were specified 'for boys''and 'for girls''. I was quickly disappointed. I am a girl. My brother got a perfectly normal toy in his, one that is just like the normal, fun toys we have grown to love and expect from Kinderjoys. His toy is one that shoots a disk across a room.(Naturally it is blue and green) My toy was one, the likes of which I had never seen before in a Kinderjoy. My Kinderjoy held a weird pink and purple key ring, with a crayon type thing at the end. Why do you think females would prefer that? Just think about it, if you were a child, or maybe a teenager, which would you prefer, the toy that shoots a disk or the key ring with a crayon? (A crayon, mind you, that doesn't even write) . I await your response. My email address is: [protected]@gmail.com Was this information helpful?
