Lakme — Product not functioning

I bought lakme eyeconic kajal yesterday. Today when I opened it, I found there is some default in the product. The kajal is not twisting back. And hence the whole product is left in the air and I cannot cover the kajal with the cap provided. Hence the whole product got wasted and I incurred loss.
