[Resolved] Landlord Harassment — Landlord not fixing a faulty water motor and then asking money every month to fixed it. | |||
Landlord's details: Vivek Sharma S/O Subhash Sharma Add: A-150, Kilokari Opposite Maharanibagh New Delhi-110014 Ph# [protected] I rented a house with the address of K-187, Jeevan Nagar, 4th floor, New Delhi-110014 from 16th of March, 2015. I moved in the house on 22nd of March and paid half month rent for it. I also paid one months advance as a deposit. I have a rent agreement stating the details. Now, within this two months of residing in the flat it is already twice that the water motor stop functioning. Each time our landlord ask for money stating that he provided the motor in working condition. We got the information from the plumber who repairs the motor that this motor has been faulty from a long time and he has been fixing it every time. When we convey the same to the landlord he refused to agree and said we have to pay. Now it is an extra expense on our part every month for around Rs.400-700/- depending on the amount of repair. Now we are at a fix as to what to do with such kind of landlord who thinks they have done a favor by providing house on rent for which we give money and harass us for money even for basic maintenance such as water supply. Is there any way to resolve this? I do not wish to move out immediately because I have financial obligations and I am expecting. It has become a mental trauma to survive without water in this summer heat and as well extra expense for buying water when motor trips and paying extra of fixing the motor.
