the powder has the consistency of baking powder. No variation in consistency and only shows up when the descender is used. Definitely not plastic

It was purchased from Home Depot, installed in November 2019. It is in our Mountain house and gets light use.

I see, for this the unit is already outside the 1 yr. manufactured warranty for the parts and labor, however may I ask if you purchased an extended warranty?
