[Resolved] LG Electronics — lg discontinuing the parts after expiring of warranty (1 year) of refrigerator | |||
Hi, My name is saurabh sharma. We purchased a lg refrigerator in[protected] in the name of my father sh. B. D. Sharma, model number (Gl-d292jgfl). The issue i am currently having is that the refrigerator suddenly stopped working. I raised a complaint with lg support (Complaint no. Rnp[protected] as on[protected] and lg team visited the house and verified the fridge and confirmed that the chip/board has a problem. To my surprise they have reverted back stating the board has been discontinued for model (Gl - d292jgfl) and there is no alternative. How can a fridge be out of support for parts in less than 4 years? As per my email conversation with the executive sh. Rajiv sharma, his exact lines were ‘the part is not available after expiring of warranty period. We are providing commercial solution for the refrigerator’. That commercial solution was that a fridge that costed me rs.28120/-, is now at a depreciated value of rs.9842/- after the usage of 3yrs and 6 months. Now the company like lg is stating that their parts are not available after the warranty period expires (Warranty period is of 1 year), so that suggests i have to keep changing my refrigerators every year or it will be out of warranty. Now why should one pay an extra amount for a replacement and that too is more than 12000/- inr. I have not asked for any higher model product, lg india don’t have the model with them to serve the product which is under warranty. This is not at all professional at your end. I trusted and purchased lg products due to its name but now i am getting to know some ground facts like this about the company, it’s really shameful. We belong to a middle class family. For us refrigerator is a product we buy so as to use for at least 10 years. This is not acceptable if the parts of the product is discontinued after expiring of the warranty. No one would like to buy a product which cannot be fixed later on. As we have only one refrigerator and which is not working from the last 2 weeks which is affecting all the food items we are eating as we are unable to cold store them which eventually is affecting the health of the elders in the house. Moreover it is also a mental harassment of not getting the proper and timely solution from your end. You are requested to look into the matter with great concern. Otherwise i have to take some other measures which will not be beneficial and may have to raise my complaint with the competent authority, i. E. Consumer forum for better solutions. Facing issue in front load washing machine with two and half months and no one is there to bother the request. In fact customer care has also stopped taking calls.
