Hello,
I had reported a issue with my LG Refrigerator as it suddenly stopped working.
Model code : GL-408YTQG4-Dual door refrigerator.
Date of purchase: Jan-2009
Date of issue: 12th July'2015
Warranty was available till 2014.
As per the complaint, a service PIC visited for investigating the issue for which additional charge of 250/- was made.
After the investigation, he found that PCB had a spark and had to be replaced.
When the spares was contacted, spares team of LG informed that, the model has been discontinued and there is NO spares available for this refrigerator.
Concern 1:
How come within 6th year of purchase you can stop the spares?
As per the Service Parts law of India constitution, spares must be made available for 10 years from the last manufactured date of the model.
How can you say the spares is stopped within 6 years (1 year after warranty expiration) of manufacturing?
Is this the credibility of LG towards your products?
Concern 2:
When asked, what should I do with the defunct refrigerator as you can't fix the issue?
I was told by your service supervisor to go for exchange with the dealer for a brand new model.!
This is pure harassment to the loyal customer and negative marketing and forceful selling which again goes against Consumer law of India constitution.
Request LG to be more customer friendly and address the issue on top priority.
