Subject: disconnection of electricity supply and removal of meter without giving notice and causing harassment to the senior citizen –regarding
Reference: (1) consumer no.[protected]
(2) billing unit no. 4173/ ulhasnagar – iv s/dn/ulhasnagar

(4) name of the resident: anand pandurang dabholkar
Please refer to the above mentioned subject.
In this connection, it is to inform that on 22.02.2018 in the afternoon, when the residents were out of home for some personal work, the msedcl officers disconnected the electricity supply, removed the meter without verbal or written intimation/notice to the owners of the house. The same resulted in mental & physical harassment of the residents including sr. Citizen lady residing in the house family members.
In view of the above incidence taken place, it is requested to inform immediately that (I) under which authority of law, the removal of meter and disconnection of electricity supply was undertaken, (Ii) the above act of disconnection of electricity illegally and without the authority of law, has been done even after full payment of electricity bills issued by the authority till december 2017. The fresh bill for the month of january 2018 is attached herewith for reference. (Iii) the electricity consumers’ rights statement is reproduced below:

Consumers have a right

1. To receive minimum fifteen clear days’ notice in writing before
Disconnection under default of payment under section 56 of the act.
To receive prior intimation regarding the visit/ entry into their premises
By an authorized representative of the electricity distribution company
In their area of supply.

6. To demand proof of identity from such representatives of the electricity
Distribution company visiting their premises.

In view of the above provision of “rights”, in the present incidence, it is evident that the very rights of the consumer have been refuted by the officers of the msedcl.

It is requested to take immediate necessary action and reconnect the electricity supply to the said house. The action taken in this regard should be conveyed to the undersigned without fail.

I having 3 phase meter, in chakan MIDC Pune
my regular monthly electricity bill is 35000 to 45000 but this month I got 1 lakh 23 thousands.
MSEB officers refused to raise complaint.
